Rishikesh is a famous city, tehsil and municipal corporation located in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is located in the lower hills of the Himalayas and is known for its natural beauty, religious significance and adventure activities.

Rishikesh is also known as the "Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas" and the "Yoga Capital of the World". It is located on the banks of the holy river Ganges and is an important stop for the Char Dham Yatra.

There are many ancient temples, ashrams and yoga centers here that attract tourists and devotees from all over the world. Rishikesh is also a popular destination for rafting, bungee jumping, trekking and other adventure sports.
Rishikesh is nestled in the lap of the Shivalik Range, where the river Ganges enters the plains. It is spread over three districts - Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal and Pauri Garhwal - although its main urban area is located in Dehradun district.
The natural beauty here is amazing. Lush green mountains, dense forests and the gurgling river Ganges present a mesmerizing sight. The weather is generally pleasant, although it is a bit hot in summers and cold in winters. There is good rainfall here during monsoon, due to which nature becomes even more greener.

Rishikesh has great significance in Hinduism. It is believed that Lord Rama performed penance here during his exile. Many ancient temples and ashrams are located here, making it a holy place.
Triveni Ghat: This is believed to be the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers (though the Saraswati river is invisible here). Ganga Aarti takes place here every evening, which is a very beautiful and spiritual experience.
Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula are two famous hanging bridges built on the river Ganges. Lakshman Jhula is believed to have been built by Lord Rama's brother Lakshman using jute ropes. These bridges offer a spectacular view of the river and the surrounding scenery.

Apart from these, there are many other important temples and ashrams, like Parmarth Niketan, Geeta Bhawan, Swargashram etc., which are centers of spiritual education and yoga practice.
Rishikesh is known as the "Yoga Capital of the World" because of the large number of yoga centers and ashrams located here. People from all over the world come here to learn and practice yoga and meditation.

Trainings and retreats are held here for a variety of yoga styles. The calm atmosphere and spiritual energy make Rishikesh an ideal place for yoga practice.
Apart from the natural beauty, Rishikesh is also a popular destination for adventure activities. Rafting in the Ganges River is a major attraction, where rafting trails of varying lengths and difficulty levels are available. Apart from this, activities like bungee jumping, flying fox, cliff jumping, trekking and mountain biking also attract tourists here…

Hello! Thank you very much for posting in the Worldmappin Community 😃.
We noticed that you included more than one PIN code in the post. This is not necessary and can lead to double pinning. If you are writing about a trip with different points of interest, it is advisable to indicate only one PIN of the most important place or central location.
Double pinning can lead to problems for our curation, so if you keep doing it we can not guarantee you to be considered for our daily Travel Digest.
We recommend that you obtain the code either from https://worldmappin.com/, or by selecting the location directly on the small map at the bottom of the text editor in the PeakD interface.
