A few months ago, we decided to go to the Van Gogh exhibition. Our house was far away, so it was a bit difficult to get there. After two hours, we found the exhibition, even though it was hard. The journey had exhausted us by the time we found the place, but once we explored the inside, we said it was worth coming.

Birkaç ay önce Van Gogh'un sergisine gitmeye karar verdik. Evimizi uzak kalıyordu bu yüzden giderken biraz zorlandık. İki saat aradan sonra zor olsa da sergiyi bulduk. Burayı bulana kadar yol bizi çok yormuştu ama iç kısmı gezince geldiğimize değdi dedik.
Van Gogh: In the Footsteps of Light exhibition reinterprets Van Gogh's works through technology. The exhibition consists of different rooms, and in each room, the works are presented using different technologies. The building plan was also written in the first section we entered. I gained some preliminary information by reading the plan. I had a rough idea of the exhibition in my mind.
Van Gogh: Işığın izinde sergisi, Van Gogh'un eserlerini teknolojiyle yeniden yorumlamış. Sergi farklı odalardan oluşuyor ve her bir odada eserler farklı teknolojiyle buluşturulmuş. Bina planlaması da girdiğimiz ilk kısımda yazıyordu. Planı okuyarak ön bilgi edindim. Kafamda sergi biraz oturmuştu.
Admission was charged. We waited a bit to pay because there was a line. After a while, we paid and entered the first section, which was crowded. There was information about the exhibition layout and details about the exhibition. After reading this, I began exploring the works and the exhibition in order. First, there was a wall section describing the works and the stories behind them. The artwork was right in front of me. There were areas on the artwork that you were supposed to touch, and when you touched them, the story of the artwork appeared. It was really well thought out. Instead of just staring blankly at the artwork and moving on, you learned about it. There were also works placed on a touchscreen glass section that served as puzzles of the artworks. I completed one of the puzzles. This section was both fun and educational.
Girişler ücretliydi. Ücret ödemek için biraz bekledik çünkü sıra vardı. Bir süre sonra ücreti ödeyip ilk kısma girdiğimizde burası kalabalıktı. Sergi plan bilgisi ve sergi hakkında yazan bilgiler vardı. Burayı okuduktan sonra sırayla eserleri ve sergiyi keşfetmeye başladım. İlk önce eserleri ve bunun arkasındaki hikayeyi yazan duvar kısmı vardı. Eser karşımda duruyor. Eserlerin üzerinde dokunulması istenen yerler var, buraya dokunulduğunda eserin hikayesi çıkıyordu. Çok iyi düşünülmüştü gerçekten. Esere boş boş bakıp geçmek yerine eser hakkında bilgi sahibi olunuyordu. Birde bu kısımda eserlerin yapbozu olan dokunmatik cam kısma yerleştirilmiş eserler de vardı. Bir tane eserin yapbozunu tamamladım. Bu kısım hem eğlenceli hem eğiticiydi.
There was another line to get into the other rooms. The hall we passed through was very ornate. There were small rooms, and again, works were on display. After looking around here, we entered the immersive experience room, the highlight of the exhibition. It was very crowded and dark. People were lost among the displays. Those sitting in the corners seemed to vanish in the darkness. Van Gogh's works covered the entire room. First his life, then his works were displayed in sequence with different transitions. It had a very different atmosphere. It was impossible not to be impressed. As the works rotated, it became difficult to stand, and my head was spinning.
Diğer odalara geçişte yine sıra vardı. Geçtiğimiz salon çok şatafatlıydı. Küçük odalar vardı ve yine eserler sergilenmişti. Buralara göz gezdirdikten sonra serginin gözdesi olan sürükleyici deneyim odasına giriş yaptık. Burası çok kalabalık ve karanlıktı. İnsanlar eserlerin gösterimi arasında kayboluyordu. Köşelerde oturanlar karanlıkta yok gibiydi. Van Gogh'un eserleri odanın tamamını kaplıyordu. Önce hayatı daha sonra sırayla farklı geçişlerle eserler sergileniyordu. Çok farklı bir ambiyansı vardı. Etkilenmemek elde değildi. Eserler döndükçe ayakta durmak zorlaşıyor, başım dönüyordu.
When the show ended, it continued without a break for the newcomers. We couldn't fully enjoy it because it was a bit crowded. We wanted to watch it again. The second time I wanted to watch it, I wanted to sit down, but the seating areas were full again. The works were magnificent. Very creative, very aesthetic, very impressive... It was truly a room where we were satiated with art.
Gösterim tamamen bittiğinde yeni gelenler için hiç ara vermeden devam ediyordu. Biz biraz kalabalık olduğu için keyfini tam çıkaramadık. Tekrar seyretmek istedik. İkinci seyretmek istememde oturarak seyretmek istedim ama oturma köşeleri yine doluydu. Eserler muazzamdı. Çok yaratıcı, çok estetik, çok etkileyici...Sanata doyduğumuz bir odaydı gerçekten.
Next was the augmented reality room. Here, too, the presentation lasted four minutes. But they only let 15 people in at a time, and we had to wait for the next showing. After waiting in line for a while, we went inside. Here, too, the works had been interpreted differently.
Daha sonra arttırılmış gerçeklik odası vardı. Burada da 4 dakikada gösterim yapılıyordu. Ama içeriye 15 kişi alıp daha sonraki gösterimi bekleniyordu. Biraz sıra bekledikten sonra içeriye girdik. Burada da eserler farklı yorumlanmıştı.
Next up was the digital corridor. There was an activity section here. For the activity, you first select an image to paint, then upload it to the digital environment. I didn't try this because it was a time-consuming activity and we didn't have enough time. Digital platforms were placed right next to this painting experience. Of course, Van Gogh's works were also exhibited on the platform. People were taking photos here.
Sırada dijital koridor vardı. Burada etkinlik kısmı vardı. Etkinlikte önce boyamak için görsel seçip boyuyorsun daha sonra ise dijital ortama yüklüyorsun. Bunu denemedim çünkü vakit alan bir etkinlikti ve yeterince vaktimiz yoktu. Bu resim deneyimin hemen yanına dijital platformlar yerleştirilmiş. Tabiki yine platformda Van Gogh'un eserleri sergileniyordu. İnsanlar burada fotoğraf çekiliyordu.
We left the exhibition. Before exiting the building, there was a café selling items featuring Van Gogh's works: coasters, bookmarks, magnets, trays, bags... Not only items, but also books by various authors. I looked at the items and bought a coaster and a bookmark. We finished our visit to the exhibition and left the building. It was a beautiful experience for me, filled with art. I highly recommend it to art lovers.

*Sergiden çıkış yaptık. Binadan çıkmadan önce kafe ve üzerinde Van Gogh'un eserlerinin olduğu eşyalar satılıyordu: çay altlığı, kitap ayracı,magnetler, tepsiler, çantalar.... Sadece eşyalar değil farklı yazarlara ait kitaplar da vardı. Eşyaları inceledim, buradan çay altlığı ve kitap ayracı aldım. Sergimize son verdik ve binadan çıktık. Güzel ve sanata doyduğumuz bir deneyim oldu benim için. Sanatseverlerin mutlaka gitmesini tavsiye ederim.
