Project start🧭🌍/Inicio del proyecto🚩

This was the typical scenario of the European monarchy, whoever inherited the lineage of each king had the best luxuries in the country, in this palace only the kings of Portugal and their families could stay, the beginning of the project was exactly in the year 1747 in reign of Pedro III, everything began as a space for recreation, rest and entertainment for King Pedro, it was occupied until 1807 due to the invasion of the French! It had a construction period of 39 years and our tour begins in the corridor where we will be passing through the main room, followed by rooms and recreational areas until ending in the singing room and the main dining room!🚙🚩

History🧭🌍/Historia🚩

history since XVI🏰🍍

Despite the palace being built in the 17th century, we have to travel further back to 1630 since before the palace there was a small country house on this land that served as a recreation and hunting house! Later in 1642 the house was confiscated by John IV thanks to the Spanish order! After being confiscated from the surname Moura, the house did not undergo renovations and continued to be a simple summer and hunting house! 👀🧭🌏

At the end of the 16th and mid-17th centuries the house was returned to the Moura family and there it began to gain importance and the real palace began to be built! It is incredible the amount of personal and decorative objects that are in each space of the palace, all well cared for and almost few restored! most of them built with top quality material such as wood in the beds and that is why they will last many more years and will remain preserved!🧭🚩

The tiled living room🧭🌍/El salon de azulejo🚩

Here we see pieces of art that are representative of our country, these are arts with neoclassical tiles from the 16th century, some images represented the four seasons and others are alluding to hunting and activities from the 17th century.🚩🧭

Yard🧭🌍/Patio🚩

At the end of the 18th century and beginning of the 19th century, the palace fell into disrepair due to the end of the monarchy in the country. However, in 2000 it was declared a world heritage site and the municipal chamber took over it, investing a lot of money and recovering its assets. infrastructures! The architectural styles that predominate the palace are: (Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassical).🧭🚩🏰
