Olympia is placed in Western Peloponnese and it is a valley. Olympia was a sanctuary for ancients Greeks and it was the place where ancient Olympic Games took place for over 1000 years. They started at 776 BCE and ended at 392 BCE when the Byzantine emperor Theodosius the 2nd ended them. They were taken place every 4 years between August 6 and September 19. During the Games all Wars were stopping.
I love nature and enjoying the trip so when i decided to visit ancient Olympia i choosed not to go from the main road. I decided to go from the center of Peloponnese where nature is wild with mountains and many trees.
As you can see there are many small villages and a lot of peace. This is a small sample of the view. Of course the road is not so well and it will take you more time but for me it worth’s it.
After 4 hours of driving with small stops we arrived at ancient Olympia.
You can see the stadium and ancient ruins from temples.
There is also a wonderful museum inside the archaeological place. At the museum you will see many offerings from wealthy ancient Greeks and Winners of the Olympic Games. You will also see many sculptures.
Thank you all for watching my trip. I hope one day there will be Olympics again at this holly place and peace will come for all without wars

These helmets remind me of the movie 300, they are very similar.
Yes they remind me the same too. It was the common outfix of ancient Greeks wariors. They also wear Chest protection, leggings, shield, javelin or sword
