The water is calling and I must go to Mimbalot Waterfalls

in Pinmapple3 years ago (edited)

Hello Hivers!

Here's another interesting tourist spot you can visit in Iligan City.

My plan was to actually visit the stunning waterfalls in Iligan City, such as Maria Cristina Falls, Tinago Falls and Mimbalot Falls because they are best known as Iligan’s Tourism Triangle.

After I visited Tinago waterfalls, I decided to visit the Mimbalot Falls on the next day since this is the most accessible waterfall out of the list.

You can find it in Brgy. Buru-un, Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte, and it's approximately 11 km drive away from the city proper, and less than 1 km from the National Highway. One of the reasons why Mimbalot Falls has never failed to attract visitors is because it is accessible. Additionally, the estimated height is around 90 ft of water drop and 18 ft wide, which makes it a different perfect spot for water massage because of the huge rocks around the place. Because of these huge rocks, you will not see deep basins like Tinago waterfalls.

Mimbalot Falls may not look majestic compared to other falls but its innate beauty, there is an endless water rushing from the upper side, and paving its way to the rocks, which is very calming that would make you leave in awe.

When I reached Mimbalot Falls entrance, we were asked to write our names in their log book, as this is their way of monitoring the number of visitors in a day, and where they come from. After that, I was shocked when I learned that there are resorts in the area where they offer exciting activities like zipline, cable car, horseback riding and kayaking. Probably, because the falls don’t have a natural catching basin, or a natural pool, that’s why they constructed several man-made pools and lagoons, so other visitors can enjoy the place as much as possible.

Overall, this place is a great spot to visit especially for family, nature lovers who enjoys natural beauty and to those who loves adventure.

Your pictures look amazing! I would love to visit Iligan once I go to Bukidnon for f2f classes as its relatively near, but I think I'm gonna have to pass up on the hanging bridge though, that looks terrifying hahahah

Thanks Bro. Haha don't be afraid they have safety harness. Just don't jump 🤣✌️

Ooooh... Love these shots 💕 I wanna see those falls too especially Maria Cristina. It's quite famous in elementary textbooks, dahil po ata sa power na kaya niyang i-generate? (If I'm not mistaken? hehe) Also, is it mandatory raw po to use the hanging bridge? It's quite long compared to what I've been 😬 ka-nerbyos

Thank you. 🤣 It's not really mandatory, it's up to you if you give it a shot. Next in the list is yong Maria C.

That's good to know that there's an alternative for us whose weak-hearted hehe. Excited for the Maria Cristina Falls! Looking forward to the amazing pictures!
