Visit the famous ceramic village in HANOI

in Pinmapple2 years ago (edited)

Famous and unique pottery village in Hanoi, the village has a long history of making ceramic products, ceramics here have become a brand for high-class ceramic goods in Vietnam. That south is the Bat Trang village. This is a small village on the banks of the Red River dyke, located on the outskirts of Hanoi and has been formed since the Ly Dynasty. Today I have the opportunity to visit this place, so I will share with you about this tour. I seem to have taken pictures of most of the market's products here and they are all beautiful works, you can walk around the market through my photos.

From the center of Hanoi, go east across the Thanh Tri bridge about 15km, the village is located close to the flood barrier road of the Red River, you can get here by way of the dike, the entrance is quite large for trucks to have access to. goods can be transported

Along the way, there are a few trucks carrying crockery everywhere.
Almost every house also trades in ceramics, this is an heirloom profession from previous generations, so it is common for descendants to stick and develop in the future. Regarding the quality of pottery here, it has its own brand and in the types of pottery on the market, Bat Trang pottery is more appreciated.

Some ceramics are displayed in small houses and are of low value, some high value goods are arranged in large and beautifully decorated shops.

Pottery is everywhere and the value ranges from a few hundred thousand to tens of millions of dong a product.

IMG_20220106_111025.jpg

Although machines help with some stages of the product, the soul of ceramic products can only be made by artisans, each pattern in the product on the stall has its own features. artisans and there is a clear difference in the booths.

This time is close to Tet, but the number of buyers is very small, the epidemic affects everywhere, only a few trips carrying pottery out of the village
The market is quite empty.

Almost all the items that can be made from porcelain are available here. From cups, vases, plates and bowls, incense burners, bricks, etc. to home decorations, tree scenes.

Normally, when there was no covid epidemic, this place was still open for tourists to visit and try to make handmade pottery with artisans, but now very few people come here to visit.
These are the items that are in the process of being completed.

Cheap items are displayed on the roadside. About 10k VND we can already own a small ceramic object.

Some items are in small shops, I quite like these vases, it's simple but there's something quite attractive.

The market is very empty, it seems that I am the only visitor here to visit and buy things, so I am quite shy . This is quite unusual because this time is close to the traditional New Year, but very few people buy and sell.
In addition to the popular items, the high-end items here are porcelain vases inlaid with gold, silver and other precious metals and they are often sold in sets, valuable items can be recognized by looking at them. I got it because of its shimmering beauty.

At the end of the tour, I returned to the city, also bought a few small items for the shops here but was quite sad because everyone here had a sad look on their faces. The goods can't be sold, but the biggest shopping occasion of the year has come.
Thank you for watching.

Me too, it's really beautiful.

wow, there are very beautiful and elegant works there, I loved the fountain, it looks spectacular!

the tight relationship existing between the potter and the ceramics needs to be studied. Could not help but notice when you made mention of how both parties truly and thoroughly synchronize with each other when you made mention of this ; “Although machines replace humans to help with some stages of the product, the soul of ceramic products can only be made by artisans, each pattern in the products on the stall has its own characteristics.”

Thank you, I have edited it, there was a little mistake in writing.

Wow there is so much beautiful works of art. You know what would be a great content post as well is maybe even discussing with various artist their ideas and thought processes behind creating some of these masterpieces.
Great work and I wish you a happy new years.

Cows only appear in fields and farms, in our country cows do not walk so freely.

That is very fortunate.
