In the very center of the coast of Montenegro, the old city of Budva appeared before my amazed eyes like an eternal pearl. As a lover of history and travel, I had the opportunity to get lost in the cobbled streets of this city full of cultural heritage.
Budva's origins date back to the ancient Illyrian civilizations, and over the centuries it has been shaped by Roman, Byzantine and Venetian influences, leaving behind a fascinating architectural legacy.
The medieval fortress, majestically overlooking the old town, offered me a breathtaking panoramic view of the sparkling Adriatic Sea. Ancient churches and Venetian palaces, symbols of a bygone era, transported me back in time, reminding me of the times when Budva was a desirable strategic bet.
When I lingered in family restaurants, the aromas of traditional Montenegrin dishes tickled my nostrils, and the warm welcome of the locals added a human dimension to my trip. I shared unforgettable moments with them, discovering their passion for their cultural heritage.
Walking through the old town, I discovered architectural gems hidden in every nook and cranny. Narrow streets, lined with buildings with delicately weathered facades, revealed a thousand-year history with every step.
Time-worn stones told stories of a bygone era, silent witnesses of past struggles and ancient triumphs. Ancient temples with majestic domes rising to the sky seem to chant ancestral prayers, and picturesque squares still buzz with the energy of merchants and artisans who once animated them.
Venetian palaces with graceful arcades and ornate balconies reflected the past grandeur of this port city, recalling the days when Venetian merchants traded here and left their mark. The old town of Budva was like an open book, telling the turbulent history of the region through its streets and squares.
Every building, every stone, every corner held memories of a rich and turbulent past, giving this coastal city a unique depth and authenticity. And then there was the sea. The Adriatic Sea, deep and brilliant blue, was the soul of Budva.
She surrounded him from all sides, rocking the city with her soothing music, bringing the desired freshness on hot summer days. The waves lapping against the city walls seemed to tell a timeless story of the unwavering bond between the city and the sea.
Finally, the mountains appeared in the background, their majestic silhouette adding a touch of grandeur to this already magical landscape. The mountains seemed to watch over the old city, protecting it from the northern winds and creating an impressive setting worthy of the most beautiful postcards.
Together with my faithful companion, the Zelya drone, we took to the sky to capture the splendor of Budva from a unique perspective. As Zelya soared through the air, her whirring propellers echoed in the blue sky, and I scanned the control screen for the best angles to capture the beauty of this magical place.
The first footage captures the old town in all its glory, showcasing its red tiled roofs, winding streets and bustling squares. Each photograph was a tribute to the architectural wealth of Budva, emphasizing the elegance of details and the harmony of forms that characterized this thousand-year-old city.
Then, as Zelya climbed even higher into the sky, we got a breathtaking view of the old town, washed by the shining Adriatic Sea. Endless shades of blue harmoniously combined with red roofs, creating an impressive and exciting contrast.
The city walls seemed to fit delicately into the landscape, testifying to the perfect symbiosis between man and nature, which characterized Budva for centuries. Each new picture was a revelation, a new chapter in the visual history of this magical city.
The details captured by Zelya revealed many hidden treasures, nooks and crannies that only locals and inquisitive travelers had the privilege of discovering. Each picture was imbued with a special emotion, a visual poetry that transcends time and space.
When I returned to earth, I knew I was taking much more than just photos with me. I took with me precious memories, moments frozen in time that will continue to haunt me long after I leave this magical city.
The old town of Budva will forever remain in my memory as a living painting, an ode to the timeless beauty and authenticity of a place where history, nature and culture intertwine with unparalleled sophistication.

Budva is undoubtedly a beauty, one that envelops you. The aerial view is breathtaking, especially its beauty and relationship with the surrounding environment, which make it look like a jewel. I loved passing by and seeing the beautiful and captivating essence of each aerial shot. Such a beautiful view is impossible to forget.
