I recently had the privilege of visiting the beautiful island of Margarita, a tropical paradise in Venezuela. During my stay, I was able to delight in two of the highlights: Playa El Yaque and the imposing Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo.
My adventure began at Playa El Yaque, a destination known worldwide for its incredible white sand beaches and its famous constant wind, which makes it one of the best places to practice water sports.

Las aguas cristalinas, el suave murmullo de las olas y la cálida brisa crearon un ambiente relajante y rejuvenecedor. Pasé horas disfrutando del sol, nadando en el mar y observando a los expertos kitesurfistas demostrando sus habilidades en las olas.
El ambiente en Playa El Yaque es vibrante y acogedor, lleno de turistas de diferentes nacionalidades y locales que se unen para compartir la pasión por los deportes acuáticos y la naturaleza. Los vendedores ambulantes ofrecen deliciosos platos locales y bebidas refrescantes, lo que añade un toque auténtico a la experiencia.
Upon arriving at Playa El Yaque, I was amazed by the natural beauty that surrounds this place. The crystal clear waters, the gentle murmur of the waves and the warm breeze created a relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere. I spent hours enjoying the sun, swimming in the sea and watching the expert kite surfers demonstrating their skills on the waves.
The atmosphere at Playa El Yaque is vibrant and welcoming, filled with tourists of different nationalities and locals coming together to share a passion for water sports and nature. Street vendors offer delicious local dishes and refreshing drinks, adding an authentic touch to the experience.
Otro punto destacado de mi viaje fue la visita al Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo, una majestuosa fortaleza histórica que se encuentra en la ciudad de Pampatar. Al llegar a este impresionante castillo, quedé impresionada por su arquitectura bien conservada y su imponente presencia.
Explorar el interior del Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo fue un viaje en el tiempo. Descubrí su fascinante historia mientras recorría sus pasillos y salas, algunas de las cuales han sido convertidas en museos que exhiben artefactos y objetos históricos de la época colonial. Desde las altas murallas del castillo, pude contemplar unas vistas panorámicas impresionantes del océano y los alrededores.
Another highlight of my trip was a visit to Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo, a majestic historic fortress located in the town of Pampatar. Upon arriving at this impressive castle, I was impressed by its well-preserved architecture and imposing presence.
Exploring the interior of Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo was a journey back in time. I discovered its fascinating history as I wandered through its halls and rooms, some of which have been converted into museums displaying artifacts and historical objects from the colonial era. From the castle's high walls, I was able to take in breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean and the surrounding area.
Mi visita a Margarita, en especial a Playa El Yaque y el Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo, fue una experiencia que superó todas mis expectativas. La combinación de la belleza natural de la isla, las emocionantes actividades acuáticas y el fascinante patrimonio histórico hizo que mi viaje fuera verdaderamente inolvidable.
Recomiendo encarecidamente a todos aquellos que buscan una escapada única y enriquecedora que visiten Margarita y se sumerjan en la magia de Playa El Yaque y la grandeza del Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo.
