Because our junior loves being outside and can't stand the cold winter.
Sunrise in Nai Harn Beach:
In contrast to last year, this year we flew with Qatar Airways, instead of Emirates, from Düsseldorf to Doha and then to Phuket. This was mainly due to the better flight times for the return flight (leaving Phuket in the evening and arriving in DUS in the morning). Thanks to Priority Pass we were able to use the lounges in DUS and DOH again. This time it was the Open Sky Lounge in DUS, which I would describe as mediocre at best. Here is a photo of the buffet, there were sausages with mashed potatoes and the usual drinks.
Open Sky Lounge DUS:
The Al Maha Lounge in Doha was much better, where you could choose between Arabic, European and Asian snacks. The selection of drinks was also great and sweetened the wait of almost 3 hours. The highlight here was the opportunity to take a shower, which we both did. A wonderful refreshment! We landed in Phuket just in time for lunch, picked up our bags, bought a Thai SIM card and took our transfer to the hotel. After about an hour's drive, we arrived at Sunsuri Phuket on Nai Harn Beach and were taken directly to our villa with private pool.

View from the terrace into the greenery:
The villa is well equipped and the bathroom has a free-standing bathtub. I prefer to use the large tub outside. :-)
Freestanding bath:
Another thing that can be said about the hotel is that the breakfast is really great. In addition to the usual things, there are also very good Asian and European specialties. My personal highlight here is the house-style Egg Benedict. The hotel also offers a free shuttle service to Nai Harn Beach every hour. There are a few nice restaurants there and some street food to try.
Nai Harn Beach:
After we had acclimatized in the first few days, we immediately went on a trip to Ko Bon (Bon Island). For this we took a taxi to Rawai Beach and from there took the longtail boat to Ko Bon.

Restaurant on Ko Bon:
A very pleasant destination as there wasn't much going on on the island. So we were able to relax and play in the sand with our junior and enjoy the sun at the same time. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but there are said to be very good fish dishes. Maybe next time.
