Hello pinmapple community, the city of Quito is surrounded by spectacular churches, especially in the center of the city, this time I want to tell you about my visit to the domes of the Sagrario Church, which is located in the historic center on Garcia Moreno street, and has a renaissance style architecture with many details and handmade paintings, most of the churches in the center of the city have the same exterior architecture and inside have a lot of details to admire for hours, so this time I want to share photos and tell the experience of what it's like to climb to the roof of this church.
To go up you must pay an entrance fee with a very affordable cost, in addition to that there are specific schedules to not interrupt the mass or other activities of the church, this information can be purchased at the entrance of the church where you will find the guides who make the tour, as my brother and I made this visit last year I do not know if the prices and schedules changed, it is a tour of about 40 minutes approximately where you climb several stairs, you enter through the windows of the roof, you go up and down the domes, the truth is a fun experience and when you go up you are amazed with the view of the city of Quito.
When you are already up you can see through the windows of the roof how the interior of the church looks like, it is a height of more than 7 meters and looking down gives you a feeling of vertigo because of how high you are, you can also observe the details of the painting of the ceiling and around the domes that are amazing, on the tour you also pass by the bell tower and between the whole tour group you can ring the bell, which is very heavy, when walking on the roof you must be very careful because it is a little slippery so I recommend you to go with sneakers.
Once you have finished the talk of the tour of the domes of the church El Sagrario you can take pictures of the spectacular view of the center of the city, it is an incredible experience, there are more churches in Quito that also offer this tour of their domes that I also hope to do, it is a different and fun way to learn more about the history of Quito and its churches. Hola comunidad pinmapple, la ciudad de Quito está rodeada de iglesias espectaculares, especialmente en el centro de la ciudad, esta vez les quiero contar de mi visita a las cúpulas de la Iglesia el Sagrario, que se encuentra ubicada en pleno centro historico sobre la calle García Moreno y tiene una arquitectura estilo renacentista con muchos detalles y pinturas realizadas a mano, la mayoría de las iglesias en el centro de la ciudad tienen la misma arquitectura exterior y en el interior tienen una gran cantidad de detalles para admirar por horas, por lo tanto esta vez les quiero compartir fotos y contar la experiencia de lo que es subir al techo de esta iglesia.
Para subir se debe pagar una entrada con costo muy accesible, además de que se cuenta con horarios específicos para no interrumpir la misa ni el resto de actividades de la iglesia, esta información la puedes adquirir en la entrada de le iglesia donde se encuentran los guías que realizan el recorrido, como mi hermano y yo realizamos esta visita el año pasado no se si los precios y horarios cambiaron, es un recorrido de unos 40 minutos aproximadamente donde subes varias escaleras, entras por los ventanales del techo, subes y bajas las cúpulas, la verdad es una experiencia divertida y al subir quedas maravillado con la vista de la ciudad de Quito.
Cuando ya estás arriba puedes ver por los ventanales del techo como se ve el interior de la iglesia, es una altura de más de 7 metros y al mirar abajo te da una sensación de vértigo por lo alto que estás, también puedes observar los detalles de la pintura del techo y alrededor de las cúpulas que son asombrosos, en el recorrido también pasas por el campanario y entre todo el grupo del recorrido puedes hacer sonar la campana, la cual es muy pesada, al caminar por el techo se debe tener mucho cuidado porque es un poco resbaloso por lo que te recomiendo que vayas con zapatos deportivos.
