Solo Camping at Lake Tamblingan

Hi everyone! How are you? Are you ready for summer? In Indonesia, the rainy season is coming to an end and the next challenge is entering the dry season where forest fires will often occur because it is too dry.

In a rainy season, it is not so comfortable to go hiking or camping because it will be wet and muddy. So, entering the dry season in Bali in particular, I want to reward myself for camping in my favorite places. One of them is Lake Tamblingan in Bedugul, Buleleng.

An offering

This lake can be reached in approximately 40 minutes to 1 hour from Ubud. Before arriving at this lake, we will pass two other lakes: Lake Beratan and Lake Buyan. So there are 3 lakes in Bedugul. However, Lake Tamblingan is one of my favorite lake for camping because usually not many visitors come there.

For the entrance ticket, you will be charged 10,000 IDR or less than one dollar per person. It's cheap, isn't it?

On the edge of the lake, there are four Hindu temples. The temples are Pura Ulun Danu Tamblingan, Pura Dalem, Pura Pande, and Pura Endek Tamblingan. Unfortunately, I did not save the temple photos. :/

The water of Tamblingan Lake is getting smaller every year, maybe this is the impact of global warming which until now is still ignored by government us(?)

The camping location is on the edge of the lake, not so far from Pura Ulun Danu Tamblingan. The place is quite flat and very suitable for camping. You can light a bonfire at night because the air at night in Bedugul is cold. In the dry season, the air temperature usually ranges from 16 to 20 degrees Celsius. For Indonesians, this is already cold enough and can make us shiver with cold.

The stunning moment for me is in the morning. You can see the mist drifting slowly from the surface of the lake water and then infiltrating the trees. Drops of dew hang on the surface of grass leaves and on spider webs. You also can see the flowers bloom. It's so beautiful!

The scenery around will make you forget for a moment the cold air that pierces to the bone. Your consciousness will recover when the dew drops cool the skin of your bare feet. When the cold air begins to pierce your bones, it gets sharper and awakens your hair.
