Bagacawa, Mercedes, Poro is a paradise that is just waiting to be found in Camotes Island. This place is an ideal getaway from the busyness of the city with its soft white sands, crystal sparkling clear waters, and lovely view. Whether you're into diving clear waters, chasing sunsets, or just taking in the peace and quiet of nature, Mercedes is a place where time seems to just slow down and problems kinda disappear along with the waves. Now, why won't you come along with me as I lead you through this paradise, where each sunrise seems like a dream and every wave screams adventure. Last December (2024), we had our trip to Bagacawa, Mercedes, Poro, Camotes Island. But, first, we headed to Danao Port Terminal during around 10:40 AM already, and our scheduled time was 11 AM. We have still little time, so we just waited for a while, and when our time was already called, we lined up and head to our respective ferry boat, excited for the trip ahead.

So glad that the weather was good during our trip. It added to the excitement we were feeling, especially since my brothers really wanted to swim in the sea. The clear skies and gentle breeze made the journey even more enjoyable.

Yay! We are almost there. I can already see the lovely view of Camotes 🏞 It looks so calming and peaceful, a perfect place to relax. The blue waters and green trees make it even more beautiful!

And now, finally, we have arrived at Poro, Camotes, where one of their port terminals is located. After we went down from the boat, we then headed to Bagacawa, Mercedes. I was really amazed by how beautiful Camotes is. This is not my first time being here, but every moment I come here, I am still so amazed, just like the very first time I landed in this place. The surroundings are so green, full of different kind of trees, so quiet, and the air is surely 100% fresh — far from the city's life, s well as polluted and smelly air. The view is very calming to the eyes, which makes it a paradise for me.

Look at that very greenery view 🍃. Very cutesy, very demure, very peaceful. I will never get tired of it, even if I will visit this place every day. The calmness and beauty here always make me feel relaxed and happy.

Now, we already arrived at Bagacawa, Mercedes. Guess what? Their flowers are very fresh and lively 💐. I really like planting different kinds of flowers outside in our house. However, they easily die because it gets too hot 🥹 I wish I could keep them alive longer, but the heat makes it hard. Maybe I should try planting ones that can handle the heat better, right?

Anyway, we used my Papa's e-tricycle (sometimes called 'bao-bao' here in our place because it looks like a turtle). Isn't it amazing? AMAZING! lol. 😬

After that long tiring but prooductice and happy day, we took a rest at my Aunt's place because we were planning to visit the beach, just around 5-10 minutes away from my her house. The beach is free and open for everyone. Then, the day came when we would bond at the beach.

My Aunt and Uncles were very busy preparing our lunch, and the kids had already swum and played in the sea. The sea was clean and very clear. That's why they prepared it just near the shore. Everything we ate was freshly caught by my Uncles. Thus, it was very tasty and yummy. The food tasted even better with the sound of the waves and the fresh sea breeze around us!

This is one of the areas on the beach that really caught my attention. I asked my Aunt what it was and why it looked like this. She told me that it was a building before, but as time went by, it was no longer used and was damaged. After hearing that, I got really curious about how it looked when the building was still there. How did they get to the building? How were they able to maintain it? And more questions started popping into my head. But I just remained silent and continued to cherish the beauty of the place.

These are the starfish caught by the kids. They just put them back in the sea because they would die if they kept them. Capturing this picture made me reminisce about how I once did this too — catching starfish and enjoying my moments at the sea. ⭐️

After our bonding at the beach, I explored the place more. It was really peaceful, and the environment felt very healthy. Undeniably, during that time, I was able to think and reflect. I am hoping that when I come back here soon, I will already have my own rest house so that we don’t need to sleep at and disturb my Aunt every time we visit.

But then, the day has already come when we need to go home, specially that my brothers and I still have our classes to attend. The days and nights we spent in that paradise were very worth it and memorable, especially because my father's relatives were very welcoming. A beautiful place plus good people equals perfection! A perfect paradise indeed.

On our way back home, Bagacawa, Mercedes, waved its goodbye with a lovely sunset. I admit that the excitement I felt on our way to Bagacawa, Mercedes, is the same as the sadness I felt the moment we have to leave. Just look at how 101% breathtakingly beautiful this place is! I am so pleasured that I was able to witness this kind of peacefull moment. Surely, I will miss this place.

I had a lot of realizations and reflections during my 2-night, 3-day stay in this place. It makes me want to live in places like this even more — places full of trees, peaceful, with fresh air, and far from the busy life in the city. No matter how many times I come back here, I will still and forever be lost in the paradise of Bagacawa, Mercedes. ✨️
