Hola amigos, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un día de aventura que tuve ayer. Aprovechando los días libres de Semana Santa, fui con unos amigos a un río llamado Charco la Piedra, ubicado en Golondrinas, del corregimiento de Montebello, carrera 2A oeste, vía al zoológico en Cali, Colombia.
Hello friends, today I want to share with you a day of adventure that I had yesterday. Taking advantage of the days off from Easter, I went with some friends to a river called Charco la Piedra, located in Golondrinas, in the town of Montebello, Carrera 2A west, on the way to the zoo in Cali, Colombia.
Para llegar al río, subimos desde Montebello, que es el nombre del barrio por donde se encuentra la ruta más fácil. Al caminar aproximadamente unos 40 minutos, comenzamos a subir la zona del sendero. Aunque se puede subir en carro, nosotros decidimos caminar. Hay aproximadamente tres rutas para llegar, pero elegimos la de senderismo, ya que tiene lugares muy bonitos y mucha vegetación con un clima agradable.Comenzamos nuestra caminata desde muy temprano, alrededor de las 8 de la mañana. Llevamos algunas cosas para consumir, mucha agua y ropa adecuada para caminar, y nos protegimos del sol.Tardamos 1 hora y 30 minutos en llegar al río. Desde el momento en que lo vimos, a todos nos encantó. Es realmente hermoso y muy limpio, estaba bastante despejado y sin mucha gente alrededor, lo cual me gustó aún más. Disfruté tomando unas bonitas fotografías; sin duda, todo era muy hermoso, con una vegetación bastante agradable.
To get to the river, we went up from Montebello, which is the name of the neighborhood where the easiest route is located. After walking for about 40 minutes, we began to climb the trail area. Although it is possible to go up by car, we decided to walk. There are approximately three routes to get there, but we chose the hiking one, since it has very beautiful places and a lot of vegetation with a pleasant climate.We started our hike very early, around 8 am. We took some things to consume, lots of water and suitable clothes for walking, and we protected ourselves from the sun.It took us 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to the river. From the moment we saw it, we all loved it. It is really beautiful and very clean, it was quite clear and without many people around, which I liked even more. I enjoyed taking some nice pictures; it was certainly all very beautiful, with quite nice vegetation.
A mitad del camino, nos encontramos con unas minas de carbón que llevan tiempo clausuradas. Según cuentan los habitantes de Montebello, estas minas fueron cerradas hace un tiempo porque contaminaban mucho el agua que iba hacia el río que cruza por la ciudad de Cali. Me pareció interesante y me gustaría escribir una publicación sobre estas minas.
Halfway along the road, we come across some coal mines that have been closed for some time. According to the inhabitants of Montebello, these mines were closed some time ago because they polluted the water that flows into the river that crosses the city of Cali. I found it interesting and I would like to write a publication about these mines.
Una vez que encontramos un lugar cómodo para sentarnos, desayunamos y apreciamos la naturaleza. Hablamos un poco, nos relajamos y disfruté del hermoso paisaje que nos regalaba la la naturaleza.
Once we found a comfortable place to sit, we had breakfast and appreciated nature. We talked a bit, relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful scenery that nature gave us.
Disfrutamos del agua, que estaba bastante fría debido a la altitud de la zona. La corriente era tranquila, por lo que era muy cómodo y seguro bañarse. Había muchos pozos hermosos donde prácticamente te sumergías en el agua, y más arriba, una cascada preciosa. Imaginamos que habría más zonas hermosas hacia arriba, pero no conocíamos mucho la zona, así que decidimos regresar otro día con alguien que conociera bien el lugar.
We enjoyed the water, which was quite cold due to the altitude of the area. The current was calm, so it was very comfortable and safe to swim. There were many beautiful pools where you were practically submerged in the water, and further up, a beautiful waterfall. We imagined that there would be more beautiful areas upwards, but we did not know the area very well, so we decided to come back another day with someone who knew the place well.
Conforme pasaban las horas, el lugar se fue llenando un poco, y alrededor del mediodía decidimos marcharnos. Bajamos por la ruta que nos llevaría directamente a la carretera. Me di cuenta de que era más corta esta ruta, pero prefiero subir por el sendero, ya que siento que te desconectas más de todo y disfrutas de los paisajes.
As the hours passed, the place got a little crowded, and around noon we decided to leave. We went down the route that would take us directly to the road. I realized that this route was shorter, but I prefer to go up the trail, as I feel that you disconnect more from everything and enjoy the scenery.
Se puede subir cualquier día y no tiene ningún costo, pero es recomendable hacerlo los fines de semana. El lugar es seguro, pero se aconseja ir en grupos y nunca solos por seguridad. Se puede pasar un día en familia, con amigos o simplemente hacer caminatas, además de tomar bonitas fotografías, ya que tiene muchos espacios adecuados para ello.
You can go up any day and it is free of charge, but it is advisable to do it on weekends. The place is safe, but it is advisable to go in groups and never alone for safety. You can spend a day with family, friends or just hiking, besides taking beautiful pictures, as it has many suitable spaces for it.
