Good morning dear Hivers,
My discovery of the beautiful Liguria region, Northern Italy, continues. Today, in particular, I bring you with me to discover the Castle of San Giorgio, located in the city of La Spezia.
The fortress is well preserved and is located in the upper part of the historic center, as if to control city life and sea traffic from its top.
Despite being built in 1262, the castle is in excellent condition and its walls can be explored on foot. Nowadays it hosts art collections and archaeological exhibitions.
To reach the Castle of San Giorgio from the historic center there are two ways: through a romantic walk along a tree-lined avenue, or with the city lift. This second option is very popular with older people and families with children, so the castle is often lively populated.

Continua la mia scoperta della bellissima regione Liguria, Nord Italia. Oggi, in particolare, vi porto con me a conoscere il Castello di San Giorgio, localizzato nella città di La Spezia.
La fortezza è ben conservata e si trova nella parte alta del centro storico, come a voler controllare dalla sua sommità la vita cittadina e i traffici del mare.
Nonostante sia stato edificato nel 1262, il castello si trova in ottime condizioni di conservazione e le sue mura sono percorribili a piedi. Al giorno d’oggi ospita collezioni d’arte e mostre archeologiche.
Per raggiungere il Castello di San Giorgio dal centro storico ci sono due modi: attraverso una romantica passeggiata su un viale alberato, oppure con l’ascensore cittadino. Questa seconda opzione è molto gettonata dalle persone più anziane e dalle famiglie con bambini, per cui il castello è spesso vivacemente popolato.
