BTW, can you walk around the lake? I'm not so sure from the pictures as it looks like the mountains grow straight out of the water at some places.
I guess you can't really swim there as it's fed by the glacier, so it must be very cold, right?

There are paths at least halfway around the lake. The rest would just be rocks at a fairly steep slope. They don't want you going off trails as small plants can take years to grow up here. It's cold, we jumped in Lake O'hara 250 meters below this and that was around 4 degrees.
