If I was given a wish, to revisit any tourist destination I have visited so far you'll see Ooty on top of my list.
Ooty is a city in the Nilgiris district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Once you visit this place, there's no going back. You just can't help it in falling in love with the beauty this city offers. It's a serene gateway to the lush Western Ghats. Surrounding by enchanting mountains, Nilgiri hills. It's the perfect escape from mundane work life.
Well, I visited Ooty in March 2022. It was part of our college south India trip. I was way too excited to see this place. We reached Ooty at night, it was pretty cold there. We just had our dinner and then headed to our stay. Very tired from the full day journey, we freshen up and went to sleep. It was told to gather around 6 am to start the Ooty trip.
As soon as we headed out, I was stunned by the beauty this place offers. From our stay, the view was just breathtaking. As you can see in this picture.
We were told our daily schedule, and all places we'll be visiting. With this our Ooty trip began.
Our first stop was DODDABETTA PEAK
Located at an altitude of 2623 meters, Doddabetta Peak is the highest peak in the Nilgiris. At the junction of Western and Eastern Ghats, it is around 10 km away from Ooty. Covered by dense sholas, this peak is the trekkers' favorite point. The view from the top of the peak is mesmerizing, there is a telescope house at the peak with two telescopes presenting a captivating view of the valley around. Rich flora and fauna here add to the overall charm of Doddabetta Peak.
