Hello to all Hive friends! In this post I want to share a visit I made to the historic museum Sarmiento since they are reopening all the places and returning to normal most of the activities in the city, I decided to come to know this museum.
It is a museum created as a tribute to the man who was president of the Argentine Republic between 1868 and 1874 and also a renowned writer, politician and educator.
Hola a todos amigos de Hive! En este post quiero compartir una visita que realicé al museo histórico Sarmiento ya que están reabriendo todos los lugares y volviendo a la normalidad la mayoría de las actividades en la ciudad, decidí venir a conocer este museo.
Se trata de un museo creado en homenaje a quien fue presidente de la República Argentina durante los años 1868 y 1874 y además un reconocido escritor, político y educador.
The museum is located in the neighborhood of Belgrano on Juramento Avenue and it displays personal objects of this personage, as well as legal treaties, constitutional articles of that time. It exhibits relics, documents, manuscripts and has several rooms where you can find much more of this main Argentinean figure.
Among these personal objects I show what was the uniform he wore, which was a military uniform ulitizado for the 1800s and on the other hand the attire he wore daily to be at home.
I want to mention that this kind of things that represent the past have always called my attention, it is for me a way to travel back in time and look at the past as we were, what we wore, how we lived and it is something that I find impressive, not only to know details of characters of this type but also of the people and their citizens at different times.
El museo está ubicado en el barrio de Belgrano en la avenida Juramento y dentro de él se muestran objetos personales de este personaje, así como también tratados legales, artículos constitucionales de aquella época. Exponen reliquias, documentos, manuscritos y tiene varias salas dónde se pueden encontrar mucho más de ésta principal figura argentina.
Entre estos objetos personales les muestro lo que fue el uniforme que llevaba consigo, el cual era un uniforme militar ulitizado para los años 1800 y por otra parte los atuendo que usaba diariamente para estar en casa.
Quiero mencionar que siempre me ha llamado la atención este tipo de cosas que representan al pasado, es para mí una forma de viajar en el tiempo y mirar al pasado como éramos, que usábamos, como se vivía y es algo que me parece impresionante, no solo por conocer detalles de personajes de este tipo sino también de los pueblos y sus ciudadanos en diferentes épocas.
Did you know that in the mid-19th century, special chairs were manufactured for use by the sick? Well, these chairs had a small desk with pencils and pencil holders where sick people spent their last days of life and it was precisely in one of those chairs that President Sarmiento was in.
I was literally impressed when I saw it, I spent about 30 minutes observing it and researching in the same place about this type of chairs for that century.
In addition to this, in the museum there are silver relics in bajillas, silverware and medals of decorations that were given by close associates of the president at that time.
¿Sabías que a mediados del siglo XIX se fabricaban sillas especiales para uso de enfermos? Pues, éstas sillas tenían un pequeño escritorio con lápices y portalápices dónde las personas enfermas pasaban sus últimos días de vida y precisamente en una de esas sillas el presidente Sarmiento estuvo.
Literalmente quede impresionado al verla, estuve alrededor de 30 minutos obervandola e investigando en el mismo sitio sobre este tipo de sillas para aquel siglo.
Además de esto, en el museo hay reliquia de plata en bajillas, cubiertos y medallas de condecoraciones que fueron obsequiados por allegados del presidente en aquella época.
I really consider it important to attend or visit this type of museums and any museum in general that allows us to learn and address issues of historical interest because to understand our present we must know our past.
