Discover the beauty of Le Toan village

in Pinmapplelast year

Hi Hivers in the Pinmapple community, today I want to take you to a village located on a mountain top, which is Le Toan. Le Toan is a village of the Xo Dang ethnic minority people located in Dak Glei district, Kon Tum province. Located in the legendary remote Ngoc Linh mountains, Le Toan is a little-known village and is set apart from other areas. I discovered this village by chance during my trip to explore Ngoc Linh mountain.

It is not easy to get to this village. On the way to explore Ngoc Linh mountain, I stopped at a beautiful lawn at the foot of the mountain. I have seen locals walking up a small path up the mountain. I thought there was a village at the top of the mountain, and I was right. I was curious and walked up that path. I must say that the road is very steep leading straight from the foot to the top of the mountain. Most of the villagers walk up and downhill if they want to get out of the village.

And when I got close to the village, I was amazed at its beauty. Le Toan is a small village located on the top of a towering mountain. As I approached the village, I felt like I was lost in a new world. At the village gate, the villagers have built 6 wooden statues and a special bamboo tree which is decorated with fine art items, I think these are to prevent evils from entering the village.

When I entered the village, the villagers seemed quite wary. They kept their distance from me, some even ran away from me and some went into the house to hide from me. Wow that was the first time I went into such an interesting village, I felt quite unsafe. But soon a man came and talked to me, luckily he spoke Vietnamese. After learning that I was a tourist, he led me around the village. After that, the villagers became friendly with me. They even offered me a beer. Only a few people in that village speak Vietnamese, and most of them have never left the village because of the geographical distance. I introduced my name as "Do Do" and they laughed a lot, maybe "Do Do" means something funny in their language.

The houses in Le Toan village are built close together and at different levels because of the mountainous terrain. From a distance this village looks like the setting of some movie. It is really beautiful. Around the village, villagers grow rice on terraced fields. The villagers have a public water intake. There they also built specially decorated bamboo trees to protect the water drawn from the top of the mountain. The villagers there really have a peaceful and happy life. They don't care about the hustle and bustle of outside life.

Humble village living.. Btw, do you wander alone when going uphill?

Yes @jane1289 I went uphill alone. You know I usually do something to satisfy my curiosity.

Ah. We are same. I travel alone too..

Oh so this how people lives🥹

Yes and the people there lead a simple and happy life.

Such houses on the top of the hills and their lifestyles are truly amazing. You have done a lot of beautiful photography.

Wow, like really wow, the photos you took are amazing and I love the fact that you found the village exploring... I find that so cool, I would love to travel and be able to explore places like this, but especially if you are not in your country it can become sometimes dangerous.
The village is really wonderful and the nature around it even more.
Thanks for sharing your experience 😊

Hi @aurzeq
I went to some ethnic villages before, then I have some experience and understand their culture a bit. If you are foreigner, then my advice is that you should go with a local. There are still some weird customs over there. For example, if you go into the village, and unluckily, someone in the village dies, then they will keep you in the village for a month.

Thanks for the tip @dodovietnam, I totally agree, also because traveling with a local helps you places from a different perspective... seeing it like someone that lives there and only as a tourist
About the tradition of being kept for a month if someone in the village dies, I found that interesting, although I wouldn't want it to happen to me
Have a wonderful day 😊

It was then a great discovery of such a beautiful place there. I would be frozen in awe looking around how beautiful this new found place could be with good friendly villagers. I absolutely love this place! Oh, the photography is always been so pleasurable! 😍

Thank you very much @diding
Even though I went to some villages before, I was still surprised with the beauty of this village.

I really like to see natural scenery like this, and not only that, the rural atmosphere also makes me reminisce about my pleasant childhood, thank you for sharing this very inspiring post, enjoy your day and success always

Thank you very much @roronoa46

With pleasure

Village life is always full of contentment and happiness.

Yes I totally agree with you @rocksg

So, I love your posts that include villages nestled in the mountains, traditional houses, absolutely magnificent, I have seen them in many pictures but until now I have not had the opportunity to see them in reality, here time seems to pass differently, technology has not stolen their minds,Simple people, I noticed the soles and hands of these women, an absolutely fantastic image showing that this person works hard to earn their food.
Another thing that fascinates me are those rice paddies (rice paddies), how they are made in steps on the hills.
Thanks for taking me on the wings of the wind through these fairytale areas, your photos are extremely convincing, clear and professional.

Hi @triplug
You're right they work very hard to earn their food.
I'm also amazed how they make those rice paddies on the steep mountainside.
I have no idea about that, just know that they put a lot of effort and time by their hands on that.

Their effort to grow rice and any other activity they have to support their family is to be appreciated.

Once again, you have proved that you are one of the best in photography. Both the place and the people here are very beautiful. These are the scenes of natural beauty that every person feels a sense of peace after seeing. Then it doesn't matter whether I'm watching it in a real or in pictures.

Hi @tornad

You're welcome!

I like the village life more than the city itself because living there one can see such natural sights which are more beautiful to one's heart. As we see in the pictures, the villagers are very happy because they have no desire or tension of urban life at all. All these pictures looks so beautiful. I really like to see natural beauty. Thanks for sharing.

You're right @djbravo
The villagers have no desire about the urban life, which make them lead a simple and happy life. That also taught me a lot about how to live a life.
