Hi dear Hivers in Pinmapple community, today I would like to take you to a beautiful village named Tam Thanh. Tam Thanh is a fishing village, but it is known for many beautiful murals around the village. Located along Tam Thanh beach and in the suburb area of Tam Ky city, it nowadays becomes a popular destination for travelers. One thing I can make sure that the village is more beautiful than the photos below in this post. So if you have a chance to visit the central region of Vietnam, don't miss it. In the meantime, just follow me in this post to explore the village.
I came to the village in early morning, and I felt really peaceful over there. Because it's a fishing village, almost everything in the village is related to fishing occupation.
One thing we can easily notice here is that the houses in the village are small. This is understandable because the village is located along the beach, and every year it is hit by the storms several times. So the smaller the houses are, the more limited the damage is. In addition, because of the disaster, the villagers lead a simple life.
You can see many interesting things around the village. Here people use "basket boats" to go to the sea. You may have a question "what is basket boat?" Basket boat is a simple boat look like a basket. If you're not familiar with it, I'm sure you've got a lot of troubles at the first try. Another thing you see a lot around the village is jars. When the villagers catch a lot of fish, they will put a part of them in these jars. The fish and the shrimp then will be incubated to become fish sauce or shrimp sauce, which can be used for a long time. This is also a good way to save food during storm season, when they cannot go to the sea.
As I mentioned above, even though Tam Thanh is a fishing village, but it is more famous for the murals around the village. It is a great idea from the villagers to paint these murals around the village to attract travelers. And in my opinion, murals are also a good and viral way to tell visitors about the people, life, cuisine and culture of the village. Just by walking around the village, you can learn many things from the murals.

I wonder if they sell the fish as well or is it only for their own need? The boats are so small, so it looks like they use them only for the village.
My husband always wanted to live close to the sea, but I've been always scared of natural disasters. It's interesting to read that people adapted to their environment by building small houses and living a simple life. Sounds good 🙂

As I know, most of them are fishermen and sailing to the sea and catching fish is their main job. They are hard-working people and they have to adapt with strict weather.
