The best-known ruins of the San Ignacio Miní reduction, a Jesuit mission founded at the beginning of the 17th century to evangelize the Guarani natives, are located in the current town of San Ignacio, in the Argentine province of Misiones, about 60 km from the provincial capital, Posadas.
Las ruinas más conocidas de la reducción de San Ignacio Miní, una misión jesuítica fundada a comienzos del siglo XVII para evangelizar a los nativos guaraníes, se encuentran en la actual localidad de San Ignacio, en la provincia argentina de Misiones, a unos 60 km de la capital provincial, Posadas.
It is easily accessible with routes in perfect condition and they are located in a unique landscape. Touring them takes me back to the film "The Mission," directed by Roland Joffé and starring Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons, Ray McAnally and Aidan Quinn in the lead roles, winner of several international film awards, and the subject still gives me chills.
Es de fácil acceso con rutas en perfecto estado y están ubicadas en un paisaje único. Recorrerlas me remonta a la película "La Misión", dirigida por Roland Joffé e interpretada por Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons, Ray McAnally y Aidan Quinn en los papeles principales, ganadora de varios premios cinematográficos internacionales, y todavía el tema me provoca escalofríos.
I think that these types of places with such a particular history should only be visited and toured with respect, each one will have their position in this regard, but if one can visit them it will surely enrich our knowledge.
Creo que este tipo de lugares con una historia tan particular, solo deben ser visitados y recorridos con respeto, cada uno tendrá su posición al respecto pero si uno puede recorrerlos seguro enriquecerá nuestro conocimiento.
If you ever travel to the province of Misiones, on the way to the Iguazú Falls, do not stop stopping on the route and visiting them, they are part of our past.
Si alguna vez viajan a la provincia de Misiones, camino a las Cataratas del Iguazú, no dejen de parar en la ruta y visitarlas, son parte de nuestro pasado.
