I agree with you again about the contemporary museums, those are always my favorite too, because I am curious how the artist will interpret life in our time. I never thought about it much in the context of the life experience of the artist making the art, but that certainly plays quite a big role in how the artist interacts with the stories and influences unfolding around them.

I was really struck by the creepy water fountain with the water running out of the people's eyes. Haunting!

Good artists are story tellers - and a good story teller has lived a life and developed a unique view of what might be an everyday experience. The young don't seem to be able to tell a good enough story, until they have lived through some real ups and downs.
