Trekking and caving to the Tu Lan caves system with Oxalis Adventure

in Pinmapple2 years ago

Hello my dear friends on Hive,

How are things going for you? I hope you are well and had a wonderful weekend. I just returned from the Tu Lan cave system, where I was in charge of a group of twelve customers who were doing the Tu Lan experience for two days and one night. They're all from Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City. We had two extra safety assistants accompanying the squad, both of whom were locals. Hoan and Cu Hue are their names. They were undoubtedly supermen, as they were capable of carrying up to 70 kg without difficulty.

I checked the weather for the entire journey on the wind.com app before leaving, and it was extremely rainy on the second day of our trek.
I awoke at 6:30 a.m. and began packing some of my belongings for the excursion. I then rode my motorcycle to the Oxalis office to pick up my guests and have breakfast. I ordered French Toasts for morning because I adore them.

Before getting into the van and embarking on our exciting excursion, I double-checked everything. On the van, I had to explain that I was going on tour and that the weather would change rapidly because the following day would be extremely rainy and could result in flooding. I made the decision to do the river passages on the first day and the dry and high cave and walking on the second. Fortunately, this pleased everyone.
By the time we arrived to the Tu Lan office at 9 a.m., some of them had gone to the restroom, while others were enjoying hot coffee and tea. Before giving the tour safety briefing, I double-checked the slides. I just had 30 minutes to provide an overview of the tour and pack away our luggage.

At 10 a.m., we were all dressed and ready to head down Hollywood Boulevard. The road was named after the iconic film King Kong, which was shot in the area in 2015, and before the film crew returned to the United States, they assisted locals in the construction of the road. Walking along the road with the view of mountains, big grass fields, and hundreds of cows and buffaloes was a very pleasant and calm experience.

We arrived at the first river crossing, which was only a few inches below my knees, but no one wanted to get wet. I informed them they were going to get wet anyway, so they began crossing the river. After that, we went up to the baby hill and into the Hung Ton valley. The valley was bordered by limestone mountains, making for a beautiful vista. For lunch, we went to the Hung Ton cave. After lunch, we donned our helmets and flashlights to explore the cave. It was only about a 50-meter walk from where we ate lunch to the cave's ladder. We needed a lifeline because the ladder that carried us down to the bottom of the passage was roughly 15 meters long.

We visited this dry passage for an hour before turning right to observe the underground river where we were set to swim. If any of us wanted to swim, we needed to wear life jackets. It was approximately 150 meters of swimming. It was a little chilly for me, but I had a great time. We had to swim out of the cave on the right side since there was a waterfall on the left.

We began exploring the second cave, Hang Kim, after walking 200 meters through the Tomo valley. The cave's structure and formations drew a large number of visitors. We had to swim and walk multiple times to complete this one. It was a lot of fun.

After that, we walked out of the cave and back to our campground. The descent was really difficult, and we had to rely on handlines to get around.

We all arrived at the camp around 5 p.m., chose our tents, and went swimming in the river in front of the camp. As the weather became cooler, I relocated to the sana area. It was a brand-new service in Oxalis' jungle. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The scent of lemonglasses, ginger, and jungle herbs made me feel much warmer and more relaxed.
By 6: 30 p.m., we had a fantastic meal, and after dinner, I informed everyone about the itinerary for the next day of the tour.
