This weekend, the city district festival around our new state theater took place in Augsburg.
Actually, we Augsburgers are not particularly fond of the theater. It's our Stuttgart 21 or BER. Just a little smaller.
Initially, in 2016, costs of 186 million were estimated.
In 2020 it was already 246 million and now it's 320 million.
Instead of 2026, it is now scheduled to open in 2027. But we can probably expect millions more by then. I'm almost certain of that.
It seems that, at least for the people of Augsburg, they are trying to put the whole thing in a different light, and so they have made 80000 loose to realize this city festival.
By way of comparison, other city festivals receive a subsidy of 5000 euros from the city if you're lucky.
Well, if we leave that aside, it was a successful festival.
We were there, of course, and had a look around.
When we arrived, the festival was already in full swing. The bars had set up stalls in the street and were selling their drinks. We went to the Yolo Bar stand first.
The Yolo Bar is actually an 80s bar that can be compared to the Planet Hollywood of the 90s.
There is a parking garage in this street that was closed on these days. Instead of cars, pictures and works of art were on display.
Even if it didn't look really full, there was quite a lot going on. It was just a huge parking garage with 5 levels. It's easy for the crowd to get lost.
I had to take a photo of this one because he photographed his shadow. It reminded me of the Shadow Challenge, which I regularly take part in here on Hive.
Art is always in the eye of the beholder. Here, an egg and a lettuce leaf were placed on the floor. Behind it was a DJ and a small bar with cocktails.
Some Graviti artists have also exhibited their paintings. This will probably be another entry for the Grafiti Contest here on Hive.
I don't like everything that is painted there. But I found this one quite appealing.
Looks like magic mushrooms.
Another interesting photo. Even the layman will notice that the artist has put some thought into it.
Action Taken. He has placed the missing piece in front of the painting.
Of course, this Pop Art could not be missing.
A bit bizarre but I like it. But I wouldn't hang it up in my apartment.
By the way, the picture behind it on the wall with the black bar in the middle cost 4400 euros. For whatever reason.

Back on the street. It was a bit more crowded there.
The picture was not on display at the exhibition. It was on the street. I liked the slogan: Not the mom!
It always reminds me of the dinosaurs.
This is what it looked like in the evening. It rained sometime around half past ten and we went home.
An diesem Wochenende fand in Augsburg das Stadtviertelfest um unser neues Staatstheater statt.
Eigentlich sind wir Augsburger nicht sonderlich gut auf das Theater zu sprechen. Es ist unser Stuttgart 21 oder BER. Nur etwas kleiner.
Anfangs, im Jahr 2016, waren kosten von 186 Millionen veranschlagt gewesen.
2020 waren es schon 246 Millionen und jetzt sind es mittlerweile 320 Millionen.
Statt 2026 soll es nun 2027 erst eröffnet werden. Bis dahin sind aber wohl noch weitere Millionen zu erwarten. Da bin ich mir fast sicher.
Es scheint so, dass man versucht zumindest für die Augsburger, dass ganze in ein anderes Bild zu rücken, und so hat man 80000 locker gemacht, um dieses Stadtfest zu realisieren.
Zum Vergleich, andere Stadtfeste bekommen von der Stadt mit etwas Glück, 5000 Euro Zuschuss.
Na ja, wenn wir das mal beiseite lassen, war es schon ein gelungenes Fest.
Wir waren natürlich dort und haben uns etwas umgesehen.
Als wir ankamen, war das Fest schon im vollen Gange. Die Bars hatten auf der Strasse Buden aufgebaut und verkauften ihre Getränke. Wir waren zunächst am Stand der Yolo Bar.
Die Yolo Bar ist eigentlich eine 80er Jahre Bar, die man mit dem Planet Hollywood der 90er vergleichen kann.
In dieser Strasse ist ein Parkhaus, dass an diesen Tagen gesperrt war. Anstatt der Autos waren Bilder und Kunstwerke ausgestellt.
Auch wenn es nicht wirklich voll aussieht, war schon einiges los. Es war nur ein riesiges Parkhaus mit 5 Ebenen. Da verläuft sich die Menge mal schnell.
Den hier habe ich fotografieren müssen, da er seinen Schatten fotografiert hat. Das hat mich an die Shadow Challenge erinnert, bei der ich ja hier auf Hive auch regelmäßig teilnehme.
Kunst liegt ja immer im Auge des Betrachters. Hier war ein Ei und ein Salatblatt auf dem Boden angebracht. Dahinter ein DJ und eine kleine Bar mit Cocktails.
Es haben einige Graviti Künstler auch ihre Bilder ausgestellt. Das wird wohl noch ein Beitrag für den Grafiti Contest hier auf Hive.
Ich finde ja nicht alles gut was da so gemalt wird. Das hier fand ich aber durchaus ansprechend.

Auch ein interessantes Foto. Hier merkt auch der Laie, dass sich der Künstler ein paar Gedanken gemacht hat.
Action Taken. Das fehlende Stück hat er vor das Gemälde gestellt.
Natürlich durfte dies Pop Art nicht fehlen.
Etwas skuril aber ich finde es gut. Aufhängen würde ich es mir aber nicht in meine Wohnung.
Das Bild dahinter an der Wand mit dem schwarzen Balken in der Mitte, kostete übrigens 4400 Euro. Warum auch immer.

Wieder zurück auf der Strasse. Dort war es etwas voller.
Das Bild war nicht auf der Ausstellung zu sehe. Es war an der Strasse angebracht. Ich fand den Spruch gut: Nicht die Mama!
Der erinnert mich immer an die Dinos.
So sah es dann Abends aus. Irgendwann um halb elf hat es dann geregnet und wir sind nach Hause.
Solche stadt- und staatsfinanzierte Feste erinnern an die Titanic, auf der man noch gefeiert hat (angeblich), als das Schiff schon unterging. Der einzige Unterschied: Auf der Titanic ging es stilvoller zu.
Etwas ja. Wenn man die anderen Stadtviertelfeste anschaut, sind die nicht weniger Attraktiv. Die müssen allerdings auch fast komplett von den Anwohnern finanziert und investiert werden. Professionelle Bands und DJs gibt es dort nicht. Hier waren ein paar teure Bands vertreten. Wie gesagt, die anderen Feste finde ich nicht weniger Attraktiv sondern auch sehr unterhaltsam und sind wesentlich billiger für die Allgemeinheit.

Ich habs eigentlich anders gemeint. Mich stört nicht, ob bekannte oder unbekannte Bands auftreten, sondern dass überhaupt solche Feste stattfinden, wo mittlerweile täglich Massenvergewaltigungen und Messerstechereien stattfinden und das anscheinend völlig normal ist.
