Hello again people of hive, I had a long time without posting, here in Spain with the war things have gotten pretty hard and every time you feel more and more, so you have to work a lot to compensate the high cost of gasoline, services and food.
However, this week I wanted to dedicate myself to get more physically active. Together with a friend we have decided to make company practicing hiking which I must confess that I am liking it a lot in fact I have even started to do it alone, surely in another publication I will show you one of the trails that I have done by myself.
This time we went to the famous Roque del Conde is one of the main mountains that make up the chain of rocks, according to some of the locals the name "Roque de Ichasagua" recalls the mencey Ichasagua, who resisted the invaders until several years after 1496, official date of the conquest of Tenerife, they say he ended his life in the Llano del Rey, now Arona, stabbing his own dagger when he discovered the betrayal of other Guanche chiefs. The Guanches would be the original inhabitants of the island to put them in context, they have been one of the places conquered by the Spaniards.
We did this trail twice, one day because we were late, we left home at about 2 o'clock and of course we thought it was an easy trail to walk without so many climbs and well, in the end we couldn't even get there, in the end we could not even get halfway but when we went the next day we managed to do it all and I must confess in all sincerity that it is more difficult than I thought because it has quite steep climbs and an earthy soil that does not facilitate the tread and that is stable step, at first reaching the middle of the trail we thought it was the end of the trail but then we realized it was not, Marcio my friend was hating me hahaha is that I already wanted to get to the top and enjoy the view and it was worth it, worth the risk, worth the scare and worth the joy I felt being up there, besides being a great therapy because everyone goes at their own pace, concentrating on the road and in each step to avoid slipping, the path was on the banks and it was really easy to fall into the void so we had to be attentive so, as mindfulness served us hahaha. On the way we met many hikers but what surprised me the most was a family, there was the father with his daughter on his back with one of these kangaroos that help carry babies and the grandfather of the children was holding the hand of the other child and with a little dog that was already old, it was something surprising because of the complicated trail but I liked it, it is part of generating security for these children.
In total it took about 4 or 5 hours doing the round trip including the times we stopped to rest. I leave you the pictures of the views and I hope you enjoy them and one day come and visit this beautiful place.
