Hello everyone! One of the places I wanted to visit on the Island of San Andrés is Calle de las Palmeras and although we didn't exactly get there (for certain reasons), we were very close and we enjoyed it, at least I did, despite everything. that we had to walk and despite the fact that there was a fairly strong sun that you can see in all the photos in this post, but now let's start by telling you how Pawel and I got to the part we got to.
Primero, es que no sabíamos la localización exacta de este lugar, es que nisiquiera sabíamos el nombre, buscamos en Instagram algunas fotos y todos etiquetan a la Isla y no a la Calle de las Palmeras, por eso no conseguiamos dónde quedaba, incluso vimos una imagen donde una persona también tenía la misma duda que nosotros y le preguntaba a otra sobre la localización de este lugar. Luego descubrimos el nombre y pusimos marcha hasta allí caminando porque no pasaban autobuses y también es que pensábamos que tal vez podía estar cerca.
First, we didn't know the exact location of this place, we didn't even know the name, we searched Instagram for some photos and everyone labeled the Island and not Calle de las Palmeras, that's why we couldn't find where it was, we even saw one image where a person also had the same doubt as us and asked another about the location of this place. Then we discovered the name and we started walking there because there were no buses and we also thought that maybe it could be close.
Cómo pensamos que tal vez el autobús pasaría mientras íbamos hasta allí, decidimos ir caminando para aprovechar el tiempo y también para hacer algunas fotos en el camino, también para conocer un poco más de la Isla (y realmente lo hicimos jajaja) pero nos terminamos bronceado porque el sol estaba muy fuerte y les cuento que caminamos casi aproximadamente una hora sin contar el tiempo que perdimos haciendo las fotos y en una respectiva parada para sentarnos a tomar una cerveza aguila para refrescarnos mientras conversábamos y nos preguntábamos si faltaba mucho.
As we thought that maybe the bus would pass while we were going there, we decided to walk to take advantage of the time and also to take some photos along the way, also to know a little more about the Island (and we really did hahaha) but we ended up tanning because the sun was very strong and I tell you that we walked almost approximately an hour without counting the time we lost taking the photos and in a respective stop to sit down to have an eagle beer to cool off while we talked and wondered if there was much left.
En el camino vimos a muchos turistas, más hoteles y restaurantes e incluso un autobús pero ya estábamos más cerca de nuestro destino así que decidimos no tomarlo, entonces luego nos dimos que tal vez fue una mala idea porque aún nos faltaba para llegar hasta allí jajaja, pero bueno llegamos hasta donde pudimos y nos pareció genial, también vimos autobús de regreso y decidimos sin duda que este sí lo íbamos a tomar porque ya estábamos muy cansados y queríamos llegar a la playa pronto.
Along the way we saw many tourists, more hotels and restaurants and even a bus but we were closer to our destination so we decided not to take it, then we realized that maybe it was a bad idea because we still had a long way to go hahaha , but well, we got as far as we could and we thought it was great, we also saw the return bus and we decided without a doubt that we were going to take this one because we were already very tired and we wanted to get to the beach soon.
Cómo les dije, no llegamos hasta la Calle de las Palmeras pero llegamos hasta aquí (la foto que ven abajo) y como habían muchas palmeras, nos hicimos nuestras fotos allí (levantados y sentados) fotos que realmente me encantaron y espero que a ustedes también, a pesar de que ya estaba bastante cansada y sudada pero de lejos en la foto no se nota jajajaja. Finalmente luego de estas fotos decidimos tomar el bus pero este se tardaba un poco en pasar, así que decidimos sentarnos un poco en la próxima tienda para tomarnos otra cerveza.
As I told you, we didn't get to Calle de las Palmeras but we got here (the photo you see below) and as there were many palm trees, we took our photos there (standing up and sitting down) photos that I really loved and I hope that you too , despite the fact that I was already quite tired and sweaty but from a distance in the photo it is not noticeable hahahaha. Finally after these photos we decided to take the bus but it took a while to pass, so we decided to sit down for a bit in the next store to have another beer.
En esta otra tienda, no solo vendían cervezas, también vendían otras bebidas pero nosotros solo queríamos cerveza, además descubrimos que en esta tienda la cerveza era más barata que en la tienda anterior, así que decidimos no tomarnos solo una cerveza más, si no dos mientras observabamos el mar en unas bancas que estaban allí y que estaban pintadas muy geniales, por eso dejamos pasar el primer bus y tomar el siguiente hasta la playa.
In this other store, they not only sold beers, they also sold other drinks but we only wanted beer, we also discovered that in this store the beer was cheaper than in the previous store, so we decided not to have just one more beer, but two while we watched the sea on some benches that were there and that were painted very cool, that's why we let the first bus pass and take the next one to the beach.
De lejos escuchamos el autobús, así que nos tuvimos que tomar la poca cerveza que nos quedaba muy rápido para poder subirnos al autobús puesto que no te dejan subir sin tapabocas, por supuesto en este fue más rápido que caminar pero llegamos con muchas ganas de bañarnos en la playa y con mucha hambre por supuesto, así que como perdimos bastante tiempo en ir hasta allí ya se había hecho tarde y era la hora de ordenar comida en nuestro restaurante favorito de la playa Rocky Cay.
From a distance we heard the bus, so we had to drink the little beer that we had left very quickly to be able to get on the bus since they do not let you get on without a mask, of course this one was faster than walking but we arrived with a lot of desire to take a bath on the beach and very hungry of course, so since we wasted a lot of time going there, it was already late and it was time to order food at our favorite restaurant on the Rocky Cay beach.
En la playa ví muchos pequeños cangrejos y realmente llamaban mucho mi atención y les hacía fotos. Otras de las cosas que también llamó mi atención es la fruta pan que les muestro abajo, una fruta que crece en la Isla de San Andrés y que ellos fríen para usarlo como acompañante en sus platos, al principio no sabía que era o si era bueno o malo, pero finalmente lo pedí y este me encantó, a mi parecer sabe incluso un poco como el tostón verde.
On the beach I saw many small crabs and they really caught my attention and I took pictures of them. Other things that also caught my attention is the breadfruit that I show you below, a fruit that grows on the Island of San Andrés and that they fry to use as a companion in their dishes, at first I did not know what it was or if it was good or bad, but I finally ordered it and I loved it, in my opinion it even tastes a bit like green toston.
