Greetings of the day,
Many times it happens that we visit a place once, but our heart says no, we should visit it once more. Same thing was happening with me for last few days. A few days ago I had gone to see the famous mosque of Pavagadh. The silence of that place, the walls reminiscent of old times and the surrounding greenery had settled in my mind. But I don't know why, it felt like there was still something incomplete there. Maybe that's why I was again drawn in the same direction, and this time the journey brought a different color.

While passing through the mountains, when I saw this large, calm and cool expanse of water below the road, I stopped the car for a few minutes and stood there. There was a slight coolness in the air and the water of the lake spread in front seemed as calm as a mirror. The shadows of the hills were falling on him, as if nature itself had created a painting and left it. Such peace probably gets lost somewhere in the hustle and bustle of the city, but standing here, I felt that my mind had also become calm for some time.

Then as we moved ahead, the grounds of the mosque became visible. Old stone buildings, huge arches and lines of domes… everything was the same as I had seen last time, but today the perspective of seeing it was different. The sun was clear and mild, and the green field in front looked very beautiful. It seemed as if this place had been waiting for centuries to tell its story. I sat there for some time just feeling the atmosphere. There was not much crowd around, so even the sound of every step was clearly heard.

While returning from the mosque, I noticed a small shop where ice was being made. Don't know which childhood memory caught hold of me, I also took one. The colorful syrup, nuts and cream added on top made it taste more interesting. It was not very hot, but still the cold ice felt completely refreshing as soon as it went into the mouth. I had eaten such a ball after many years, so perhaps it tasted even better.

After this we took the return route and as we reached near Vadodara, a big fair was visible. Our simple plan was to go home, but after seeing the flashing lights and high swings of the fair, we stopped the car. It was night time and the whole field was full of colours—somewhere blue lights were shining, somewhere red and green.

The way people were moving around, the sounds of laughter and fun were coming, the enthusiasm of the children was visible – seeing it made me feel that even amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, people still find small happiness. The lights of the huge Ferris wheel looked so beautiful that I just kept making videos of it for several minutes. There were lines of food items, clothing shops and small games all around.

There was a different atmosphere of happiness everywhere in the fair. There were many people taking photos, children bargaining for toys, and every shop was bustling with activity. We also got a little tired and we slowly continued roaming around the entire fair.

When we were leaving the fair and moving towards the outskirts of the city, suddenly a beautiful sight appeared in the sky – a thin moon above and a dense spread of clouds below. It was already dark, but a little light peeking from behind the clouds was making the atmosphere even more peaceful. There was tiredness from the whole day's journey, but this view lightened my mind again.

Often we think that every trip should be planned in advance, but this time I realized how beautiful even a small trip taken without thinking can become. The historic mosque of Pavagadh, the calm water of the lake, the snow eaten on the way and then suddenly we met the shining fair of Vadodara – all these together made the whole day a memorable story.

By the time we reached home, it was already late in the night, but there was only one thing in our mind – sometimes life tells us that happiness is not far away, we just have to take some time out and feel the things around us.

That dessert looks really good! Thanks for walking us through the old mosque. I really like the structure and the kind of wear and tear that shows how long it's been there and what kinds of things it's seen through the years.
I can feel it when you said that it's so solemn that you can even hear your own footsteps. That part really made me feel like I was there with you.
