A magical journey along the banks of Ratnagiri: experiencing peace and nature in the shade of sea waves, old forts and waterfalls

Yesterday was a very special day for me because I went to a place just a short distance from Ratnagiri where the sea waves, the wind hitting the stones and the old fort. Everything was giving a different feeling. When we left early around the morning there was greenery on both sides of the road and the fragrance of the soil after the rain was making the whole atmosphere more fresh. As we moved ahead on the turns of the road we started getting images of the sea. The blue water was spread far and the sound of the waves was calming to the mind.

Within a short time we reached the old fort, which people call Ratnadurg Fort. It is built right on the sea shore. As soon as we reached there the cold breeze blew away all the tiredness. Standing on the walls of the fort when I looked down the waves were hitting the rocks.I stood there for some time and looked at that view the only thought that came to my mind was how small man is in front of nature.

A glimpse of the old times can still be seen inside the fort. Some walls are broken but the fragrance of history is still present in them. I slowly walked towards the top from where the entire sea was visible. the pictures i took while standing there became the biggest memories of this trip for me. There were light clouds in the sky and the taste of salt in the air. Everything looked exactly like a film.

After some time we got down and went to the sea shore. There was sand underfoot, and every wave seemed to bring with it a story. In the distance, fishermen's boats were moving forward fighting the waves. I took off my shoes and just felt like walking in the water for a while the coolness of the waves touched my heart.

In the evening we went out to a small waterfall nearby the path was a bit bumpy but as we moved higher the sound of the water became louder. On reaching the waterfall it felt as if we had entered another world. The cool water there, the surrounding greenery and light rain – all together were making that moment magical. I took many pictures in my camera, but the real beauty remained in the eyes.

The sun was slowly setting, and the entire sky was colored orange. While returning, it started becoming slightly cold on the way. The lights of the vehicles started flickering and the scent of the sea was again felt in the air. This journey to Ratnagiri was not just a journey but a feeling. Of peace, of being close to nature and of meeting oneself.

When I reached back to the hotel at night, I was feeling a strange happiness along with fatigue. I looked towards the sea from the balcony of the room. The waves were still dancing in the same rhythm. I decided in my mind that next time I come to Ratnagiri I will definitely spend some more time here.
