Greetings of the day,
Mumbai: On hearing this name, many pictures start emerging in the mind. Tall buildings, the sound of ocean waves, the scent of history residing in old buildings and a hustle and bustle that never stops. A few days ago I got a chance to see this dream city with my own eyes and to be honest, the city actually seemed much deeper, bigger and unique than what I had heard about Mumbai.

My trip to Mumbai began with what the city is known for—its expansive skyline. As soon as we entered the city the first two tall buildings that caught our eye were these shiny, modern, cloud-touching towers. These glass covered buildings had their own aura. While walking on the streets I felt like looking up again and again, like a child curiously looking at a new toy. This is the style of Mumbai – a wonderful blend of old and new. There are buildings that talk to the sky and at a short distance there are also old, beautiful buildings of the British era, which preserve the soul of this city.

Moving ahead from these tall towers, my next destination was Taj Hotel. The Taj Mahal Palace is not just a hotel but a living chapter of India's history. When the grand structure with its red domes and white arches comes into view the first feeling that comes is of 'grandeur' and 'respect'. Even standing on the other side of the road its splendor touches the mind. The modern tower standing right next to it—the Taj Tower—seems as if ancient and modern times stand together in one frame.

Standing here, my mind became calm for some time. The sea breeze, the sounds of birds coming from a distance and the historical grandeur of this building together create an atmosphere which is difficult to capture in words. Taking pictures of this place felt like I was capturing Mumbai's most recognizable face.

After this I moved towards those old buildings of South Mumbai, which have their own charm. It seems as if these buildings hold the stories of centuries in their windows and arches. These buildings built in European architectural style look equally strong and beautiful even today. The marks of time on their walls make them even more special like an elderly person who has experienced so many life experiences that just the wrinkles on his face become his book.

Standing in front of these buildings, this is what I felt – Mumbai is not just the name of fast-paced life it is also a symbol of culture, history and keeping pace with the changing times.

Moving on from the hustle and bustle of the day, the evening pulled me towards my favorite place – Marine Drive, nestled in the lap of the sea. This part of Mumbai is no less than magic. When I reached here at night the city lights spread far and wide were shining on the black water of the sea. The feel of salt in the air the waves crashing on the shore, and the glittering skyline in the distance… Seeing this, it felt as if the whole of Mumbai was shining like pearls in a single row.

Sitting on the stones and listening to the sound of the sea for some time was no less than therapy. People say that Marine Drive is the biggest inspiration for every artist and to be honest, this is absolutely true. Coming here, time seems to slow down, and the mind starts talking to itself.

The next day I again reached the same sea shore, this time in the morning sun. While the magic of the night was calm, deep and romantic, the atmosphere of the morning was completely different – light breeze, peace, and blue sky stretching far into the distance. The sea seemed absolutely still, as if it too was resting after the turmoil of the night.

Sitting here, I saw many people starting their day by walking, jogging, or simply sitting on the shore sipping tea. The special thing about Mumbai is that no matter how fast the city is, the sea always creates a corner of peace where everyone can find themselves for a while.

During this journey, I realized again and again that Mumbai does not reside in one picture, one street or one building. This city is such a confluence of different faces and experiences that every person experiences in his own way. There is no feeling of loneliness even in the crowd here and the peace here touches the heart as deeply as the splendor here.

From old buildings to modern towers, from Taj Hotel to the silence of the sea – every corner of Mumbai holds a story within itself. What impresses me most is that this city has the ability to reinvent itself again and again. No matter how many challenges there are, Mumbai never stops, never stops.

When I was returning, I had only one thought in my mind – whatever I have seen of Mumbai is just the beginning. The true beauty of this city is understood only when you feel it—in its people, its atmosphere, its old buildings and the light that spreads in its nights.

This trip of mine was not just to see a city, but to live a feeling. Mumbai taught me that the beauty of a place is not just in its buildings or streets but in the feeling it leaves within you. And the feeling of Mumbai???? that has remained in my heart forever.

I loved the architecture of that fairytale city.
The combination of sea and city gives it a unique touch. I can imagine how beautiful the marine environment must look from above.
