Let Yourself Discover The Crystallized Aqua Spring of Cebu

in Pinmapple4 years ago
I am very excited to share today about my first detailed tourist spots to go here in Cebu Province. I decided to make this in order for those people who have unbothered questions such as how, where, and what to do when they come here most especially here in my Municipality which is Dalaguete.

This is a kind of review blog because you had seen some of the places I'd been through but this is way better because I am going to be more informative which I know everybody will be happy to know about this. (Photos were taken this early morning.)I would like to remind you that these details are based on you are already in Dalaguete, the "lungsod" itself.

HOW TO GET IN OBONG SPRING, DALAGUETE, CEBU?

Well, there are many options for you to reach Obong Spring. Here is the following mode of transportation available in the area:

  1. Tricycle: This is one of my best tips to go there. Aside from it can carry 4-5 passengers, it's cheap. It can drop you off at the exact entrance place. Possibly it will cost 30 pesos per person for the fare.

  2. Bus: Going into the bus is way more comfortable. Being in a group of friends or relatives can accommodate but you have to wait by the time the bus will pass near the bus stop which is located right next to the 7 eleven. This will probably take around 5-8 minutes from Poblacion. (Expect passengers will be picked and drop which affects time travel).

  3. Motorbike or commonly known as habal-habal: This is free will transportation. What I mean is, you can really feel welcome to the place as you enjoy watching the neighboring areas and breathe fresh air. It's kind of windy and messing up your hair but what is an adventure right? so expect more. You can "pakyaw" or pay the fare according to the covered area you are up into. Mostly they will ask around 50 pesos only.

AVAILABLE RESTAURANT NEAR OBONG SPRING

"Barrio Kusina" is a popular native restaurant in Dalaguete. Aside from it serves mouth-watering dishes, the dinings were amazing too. This is the chance for you to enjoy their foods and try what's best in Dalaguete and I assure you to love it and keep craving for it in the future. It has an instagrammable setting that really catches your attention to enjoy more and have a great time whoever will be with you if you will come here.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE IN THE ENTRANCE GATE?

As you enter the entrance gate, there is a small hut there where you can approach the representative and pay. There is a tarpaulin on the right where rates are posted. Actually this is really a budget-friendly adventure that is affordable. Be reminded as well for its opening and closing time as indicated in the photo. After that, you still need to travel for a minute only before you will see the spring.

WHERE I CAN PARK MY VEHICLE?

There is a good and safe place for you to park your vehicle. As there is someone who will approach to you the rules in the parking area and how much fee you have to pay. I assure you guys that your vehicles are safe since I'd been here many times and thankful that so far I haven't experienced any incident or inconvenience when it comes to parking service.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN OBONG SPRING?

As an experienced traveller here in spring, I would like to tell you my top 4 things I can see and do here in Obong Spring:

1.The crystallized aqua blue water is awesome. It is very clear. You can see through your eyes the sea creatures such as beautiful fish. Fish from the spring can help you to have a foot massage which is a good feeling to relax and taken away your feet' dead skin.

2.It is nice to witness a "dalakit" or known as a huge tree. I could still remember before I used to climb up there and jump off into the water. I find it really exciting but for the safety of everybody, this was now prohibited.

3.This is the best place to release your stress. This has been one of my running places if I wanted to refresh or be alone by dipping my body from its cold water that surely relaxes my body and mind.

4.What makes it unique with this place is how spring and sea connected to each other specifically the water flow. You can really differentiate between the two. If you are done in spring, then you are free to explore in the sea and dip in the saltwater.

RULES NEED TO BE FOLLOWED:

Along the long stairs, you can see the rules when in the spring. I just wanted to summarize some of the dos and dont's.

  • Throwing garbages everywhere is not allowed. There is a specific garbage area.
  • Be mindful of your personal belongings.
  • Adults are more responsible for their young children. (There is a watcher in the spring)
  • Water vehicles are not allowed such as motorjet or pump boats.

ARE THERE COTTAGES AVAILABLE?

It's a big YES! actually there are about 5 types of cottages you can stay in. The cheapest one is the red table it cost 100 pesos which can cover 3-4 people. But if you are in a family reunion the orange tables are best for you because it is a bigger space. This is the most expensive from 4 cottages in the spring but it's worth it because it is spacious, it costs 250-300 pesos.

To those people who love to do karaoke, then the other table suits them and it is near the grilling area where you can grill your delicious marinated meat or fish that completes the trip.

On the opposite view, tables there are near the "sari-sari store" where you can buy some chips, sodas, and even fresh mango dip in shrimp paste. I would like to share a short trip here, actually guys, I don't pay any of those because I just climb up near those big rocks, place a mat then put my foods and things which became a habit of mine every time I go there. There is nothing wrong with it since it is allowed there as long as you are responsible enough for your trashes. Again, guys, cottages are optional.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Toilets and dressing rooms are available for our dear visitors. This provides privacy to individuals.

LATEST UPDATE :
Obong Spring is still temporarily closed due to Covid19. In the entrance gate, there will be a policeman who will checkpoint. As a citizen and resident from Dalaguete, we strictly follow the protocols. We are glad that we were able to take photos today without any fees. We explore the area and I am happy to see that nature is healing itself.
