Mount Burni Telong is a mountain that is located in the district. This mountain is an active Mount Merapi. The last time it released its lava was in 1934, which caused damage to the environment and the settlements of local residents. Geographically, it is located in the Truly Merry District, Nangroe Aceh Darussalam Province.
Not only local climbers, Mount Burni Telong is a favorite of climbers outside the area, such as: Lhokseumae, Bireuen, North Aceh, Sigli, Banda Aceh, and even Sumatran climbers. Because this mountain has its charm with a beautiful panorama and stunning beauty of the edelweiss flower garden.
t the foot of Mount Burni Telong, before starting the ascent, all climbers registered themselves at the POS, namely the RANGER GUNUNG BURNI TELONG POS, where visitors were also placed in the parking lot, all climbers were also guided according to the climb.
Starting the hike, we saw coffee plantations owned by residents, upon arrival at the Rimba Door, our starting point was to enter the forest area with a cold welcome and the chirping of small birds. not far from arriving at Shelter 1, where many of the climbers are resting to take air supplies, where we take the opportunity to face difficulties, there is a spring to the left of the shelter.
Not long after taking a break, we immediately continued climbing, the distance from shelter 1 to the camp site was still far, it was good to arrive there before nightfall. after passing through a tedious and winding track to shelter 2, proceed to shelter 3 which is not far above it. Arriving at shelter 3, that is where all the climbers spend the night, set up tents, look for firewood, and also prepare food for dinner tonight. after that the climber began to rest before heading to the summit.
At 04:00 WIB, climbers start getting up to get ready to continue climbing to the top or often called the SUMMIT ATTACK, by bringing travel supplies and headlamps, climbers slowly walk carefully because the track there starts from the rocky slopes, to the top. The rock cave is almost near the top. Arriving at the top of the climb, you are usually greeted with the beauty of God, namely creation who enjoys it slowly, the sun rises from the eastern horizon, especially when there is an ocean of clouds surrounding the peak.
