Castle of the Three Kings /Castillo de los tres Reyes [EN/ES]

Castle of the Three Kings or Morro Cabaña as it is known by the locals, is a military fortress built by Spain at the entrance of the Bay of Havana, during the colonial era, with the aim of defending the city against pirate attacks. But I don't want to focus on history because that's what books are for, I want to talk to you about what few people know. The fortress is known for its mythical cannon shot at 9:00 pm, which marked the closure of the doors of the walls of the current historic center, or for hosting the international book fair during the month of February. But only some know that its interior houses impressive structures, such as a chapel in which the Three Wise Men of the Catholic religion were venerated, which gave its name to the fortress

Inside we can find several parks and interior gardens, such as the square of the cannon shot ceremony, where this event takes place, from this square through one of its corridors we have access to an interior garden which through a tunnel, which was used for emergency escapes in the 18th century, we find the exterior garden of the fortress, at its north entrance..

In the surroundings of the square we also find some museums, such as the one dedicated to Venezuela and Hugo Rafael Chavez. This museum has two rooms, in the first we find the history of the culture of Venezuela with a series of posters and decorative elements typical of the country, and where we see the replica of Simon Bolivar's sabre; in the second room we come across political-military history, phrases and historical slogans, along with uniforms belonging to the army, they make us feel a little closer to the nation.

In another of its museums we see representation of the beginnings of man, in his time of homo sapiens, and following the history of the evolution of man until the stone age through the use of objects, recreations and replicas of ancient tools and weapons typical of that time.

I hope that this publication serves to nourish a little more the culture and the desire to know of everyone, and that it helps us to have a clearer and more visual idea of the Castillo de los Tres Reyes or as I and every Cuban knows it, Morro Cabaña
