Summer time is obviously here and it is on our means to find ways to beat the summer heat. When we were invited by a recent town fiesta of a friend of ours, we also took some time to visit Cantacoyan Spring which is located in Tabuelan, Cebu Province, Philippines.
Since we went here via motorcycle, we passed by Lugo church which is a shortcut going to the town of Tabuelan, northern Cebu, then we just hit the road and when we reached Cantacoyan Bridge, the spring is just located on the left side.
CANTACOYAN BRIDGE : TABUELAN-JUNCTION ROAD, TABUELAN, CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES
Once you will reach this Cantacoyan Bridge, in the left part of the bridge is a signage which leads you to Cantacoyan Spring.
It is very easy to located since there is a signage. Just make sure to not over speed especially when it is your first time here.
There goes my son who struck a pose at the Cantacoyan Spring signage. He is very excited to go for a swim.
From the highway, you need to walk 2-3 minutes before you will reach Cantacoyan Spring.
This is the way going to Cantacoyan Spring. There are a lot of trees and it is very windy.
Given that it is summer time, it is really expected that a lot of people will be coming here to take a swim.
Some people also come here to wash their clothes.
But look at that crystal-clear water. It is really a perfect place to go swimming especially now that it is summertime since the waters of Cantacoyan Spring is really cold.
The place is also free of admission so as responsible tourists, everyone must remember to clean as you go.
My son immediately dipped into his casual clothes since we forgot to bring him his rash guard and swimming vest. He was so excited to dip into the water.
Here are a few things you should consider when going here in Cantacoyan Spring:
(1) It is free of admission, you have nothing to worry about the entrance fee but always make sure to practice CLAYGO or clean as you go.
(2) There is no signal in the area. Also, you can find wifi vending machine slots for you to get a signal.
(3) There are no cottages in the area so if you have portable camping chairs and camping tables, you might want to consider bringing those.
(4) There are small stores that sell snacks but if you are looking for rice and viand, there are none selling within the vicinity so make sure to bring your food and drinks.
(5) There is ample parking space for motorcycle and cars so parking is not an issue.
I can really say that their town is so blessed with so many springs not to mention there are a lot more, because going here to Cantacoyan Spring, we got lost and arrived at Liki Spring which is a different spring also located in the same town, Tabuelan.
Nevertheless, we found where it is located, and we enjoyed our swimming here at Cantacoyan Spring with friends.
This might be our first time to be here at Cantacoyan Spring but this will definitely not gonna be the last.
We already discovered a gem, budget-friendly and worth it!
