An Eco Walk Around the Bir and Billing village

in Worldmappin24 days ago

Two days before the 'bir running festival', I and my friends are busy marking the route. So one day when we had to mark about 3 km, we visited bir and the surrounding villages. Of course, the marking was to be done only for 3 km but for this we had to walk about 6 km. So let's go straight to Himachal Pradesh.

I, Vishwas and @naveen.jogta set out in the evening for route marking. It had not even been 10 minutes since we started walking that the dark clouds over the Dhauladhar range are giving us a red alert and perhaps saying that we should complete our work quickly or else we will get caught in heavy rain. I have a bucket of paint in my hand and we started marking from the paragliding landing site.

After crossing a few hotels and home stages on the way, we enter the fields of bir. These days peaches, pears, plums and hisar are being seen in abundance in the trees located here. Some fruits will ripen in the first rain of the monsoon and some even before that. Saying hi to the small yellow flowers, I cross in front of a temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and inside the temple, there is also a statue of the local deity which the locals worship every morning and evening.

From the plains to the mountains, the wheat crop is being harvested. Since this place is located at an altitude of about 1300 meters, it takes a little extra time for the wheat crop to ripen due to the cold. So, nowadays locals can be seen in the fields harvesting the crop. Crossing the mud and stone houses, we are reaching the open area where the beauty of the red rose is at its peak and this rose plant is looking very attractive in the light of the setting sun.

There are plenty of tourists at the paragliding landing site, some people are watching the gliders landing while some are admiring the Dhauladhar mountain range and watching their soul getting lost in its melting snow. I am witnessing the setting sun, while on one hand the sun is getting cold, my thoughts about route marking are feeling a little warm. Some pilots are bidding goodbye to their day and packing their gliders so that the day can be started again in the same way tomorrow.

After completing the marking, we have reached back to Bir marking where a crowd of tourists has gathered to have food in restaurants and cafes. Now we have to go to our hotel for which we take a shortcut which will take us to our hotel through the fields. Moving ahead on the road, we are crossing the wheat fields, now again the weather is changing and dark clouds have started shining over the fields, seeing which I am thinking that the weather should not be bad on the day of the event.

After coming out of the fields, we reach the road going to Billing from where we cross a local temple located in the forest and enter the pine forest. Here I take a photo of a newly bloomed pine flower and we clear the trail by removing the fallen pine leaves from the trail. Nowadays, in order to clear these pine leaves, people are setting fire to the local forest so that the trail is cleared by fire.

And moving on to the last segment of today, we cross a mud and stone house and enter a tea garden where we move forward with folded hands in front of the temple of Lord Hanuman and on the way, after seeing another Hanuman statue, we go on our way. Enter Bir village and reach our hotel. Thankfully, we completed the route marking and for this we did not get caught in the rain. So this was today's day spent roaming around Bir. I hope you liked this post. See you in the next post, until then keep smiling and take care of yourself.
