Happy New Year 2025 Hive friends
I joined Hive in 2018 and today after 7 years I am sitting at 73 reputation, the estimated value of my hive account is $3182.11 (this figure is of 04:09PM on 2 January 2025). In 2024, I have upgraded my reputation by 4 points. My reputation was 69 in January 2024 which has become 73 in December 2024. I wrote a total of 204 posts to come from 69 to 72. I have not delegated my hive to any community till date.
So this was the insight of my hive career. I hope to take my reputation to 76-77 in 2025 and double my account's estimated value to $6000. I haven't powered down even once since 2023, I will power up every month to increase my upvoting power so that I can give back to the hive.
January - March 2024
2024 started from Gurugram city of Haryana where I attended a trail running event called Red Stone. I took a bus from Dehradun and reached Gurugram directly. I stayed at my friend's house in Gurugram for a few days. During this time I did a recce of the route for the event and did all the other work that was necessary for the running event. The event went very well and the runners performed brilliantly and finished the 50 km category in about 4 hours.
It was a winter month and I had to stay in the fields for a long time. In February, I first went to Dehradun from where I took @sara.negi with me and reached Narkanda by bus where my friend @naveen.jogta lives, Naveen's house is located in Narkanda, Himachal Pradesh. Chhairan village has an altitude of 2450 meters and we spent 10 days staying here. In these 10 days we visited Shimla, Tanijubd, Hatu Peak and nearby local villages and temples. In March, I reached Faridabad where I got a chance to visit the Devi temple with the family. Family trips are always refreshing, it was a pleasant experience to meet all the family members at one place and I hope there will be more such trips in the future.
April - June 2024
Reached Dehradun again in April where I visited Balabhadra, Sahastradhara and Tapkeshwar temple. By now, along with winter, the festival of Holi has also gone and flowers have bloomed all around in the Himalayas. Once we went to Balabhadra on foot, once we went to Sahastradhara on foot. In this way we did many small hikes in April which was a good idea for summer. In May we travel 1800 kms by car and reach Indo-Nepal border from where it was a magical experience to see the world's highest peak Everest.
Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and finally we entered West Bengal from where we cross Siliguri and reach Gorkhaland. After crossing Darjeeling we land at the last village of India named Rimbik. I stay here for about 14 days. While roaming here I see Kanchenjunga, Mount Makalu, Lhotse, and Everest. I found this trip very interesting because this is a very pleasant situation in East India and right now there are mild winters here.
In May I have to come back from East India to North India, I reach Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh by bus. There is a trail running event to be held here for which I have to do volunteering. There is a half marathon here and an 18 km long trail event which goes straight to Mount Hanumangarh peak and ends at the take off site of paragliding. I stayed here for probably a week. I liked the paragliders flying in the air and the amazing view of Thamsar Pass from the summit was very pleasing to my eyes.
In June, like every year, I had the opportunity to go to Ladakh from Himachal Pradesh. We four friends left in a car and spent 5 days on this trip where we crossed Rohtang Pass, Baralacha La, Naki La, Lachung La and Tanglang Pass and reached Leh, the most remote city of India. We stayed here for 2 more days and toured Leh.
July – September 2024
In July, the rains started in North India, I could not do much but reached Manali from where I stay 14 km further in Solang Valley. While staying here, I explored Anjani Mahadev and Bhrigu Lake. The height of Bhrigu Lake is 4250 meters. Due to phone crash, I am posting the photo of Bhrigu Lake clicked in March in this post.
In August, I have to go to Leh again with a group where we go by bus, reach Leh by road in 2 days. On the first day we stop at Jispa and on the second day the driver takes the bus to Leh city. There are dark clouds here and it is raining lightly. Where there was no rain in Leh earlier, nowadays Leh has started receiving decent rains.
In September, I reach Solang Valley where I have to take permission for the trail run to be held in October. I roam around Manali for a few days to get the permission and in between I take out some time to roam around. While roaming, I visit Anjani Mahadev temple. There is a 120 feet high waterfall here which falls directly on the Shivalinga of Lord Shiva. I like this holy temple very much because in winters, a Shivlinga of ice is formed from the water of the waterfall here, whose height reaches 20-30 feet.
October – December 2024
I come to Dehradun from Solang, by now the monsoon is over and I join the swimming pool. Due to roaming around a lot, I am not able to stay and do anything, so I do not take membership of anyone. Anyway, I go to the swimming pool for 20 days and go to Sahastradhara near Dehradun and improve my skills in open water. Swimming in green and blue water is very pleasant and it feels like my 20 days swimming course has been worthwhile.
In October, I reach Himachal Pradesh directly from Uttarakhand via Ponta. Finally the day of the trail running event for which I had taken permission in September has arrived. Around 320 runners have gathered here to participate in 4 different categories. I find only 2 categories to be the most dangerous, the first 100 km in which the runner has to keep running in the mountains for a whole night, there are leopards and wild bears in this part of the mountain.
The second category is Patalsu Epic in which the runner has to go to the top of Mount Patalsu Peak and come back down, in going 7 km and descending 7 km the runner has to face an elevation gain of 1940 meters. There is no plain path anywhere in the first 7 km, from the very first step the runner has to face a 37% climb and the runners have to complete this category in just 6 hours.
In November I come back from Solang to Uttarakhand where I spend a few days in Rishikesh. Here I take a bath in the Ganga river every day and participate in the famous Ganga Aarti held here. I see my existence merging in this devotional atmosphere. And now let me talk about the last month of 2024 in which I traveled the most.
In December I traveled from Dehradun to Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Kamleshwar Temple, Dhari Devi Temple, Kartik Swami Temple, Tungnath Temple and Chandrashila. In the last month of the year, I visited all the religious places so that I can ask God to keep his blessings on me and give me the courage to keep doing good. I saw Alaknanda and Mandakini meeting at Devprayag, heard the famous stories of Dhari Devi, felt the sacrifice of Kartik Swami, received blessings from the winter temple of Lord Shiva at Tungnath, while walking in the snow to reach 4000 meters was a challenge which resulted in Chandrashila Summit.
So this was my 2024 in which I wrote 204 posts on hive, traveled 21151 km. While living in India, I visited 11 states. I hope you liked this year of mine. I hope that 2025 will also be a good year for me. Happy New Year to all of you.
