Hello, friends, travelers, and community greetings! I hope you all are doing well and having a good time with your dears and nears.
At the beginning of October, we were traveling to Riga just for the weekend. It was a short trip.
Our flight to Riga was around 4 o'clock afternoon. We should arrive in Riga at around 17.30. We had a deal with the hotel that they would come and pick us up at the airport. But when we booked the ticket, we didn't have any idea about how the weather would be there, but the day before traveling, we checked the weather, and it wasn't a very good prediction. So we prepared for rainy and windy weather. We found it the next day when we saw news about the AMY hurricane.
When we arrived in Riga, it was raining and cold. As per our deal, we were waiting for our taxi driver, but he didn't show up on time. While waiting on the exit, we met the one handicapped sportsman who had just arrived at the airport with his gold medal. (don't know in which sports and where) And it was crowded there. And saw how Latvians celebrate victory. The next day, we learned it from our tour guide.
Finally, after half an hour waiting, our taxi driver came; meanwhile, it was getting dark and big traffic, so it was not so easy to see on the road. our hotel was in the old town.
When we arrived at the hotel, it was almost dark. We took over the room, we refreshed, prepared some coffee at their coffee station, after having coffee, we felt better, and we went out just to see around. Because of Friday evening, all shops were closed except some supermarkets, restaurants, and bars.
And here we walk to explore Riga in the evening
In any direction we walk, the St. Peter church tower is always in the center,
We are just walking to see superficially how the town looks at night.
House of the Blackheads.
Here it is, the house of the Blackheads building with the animation dog statue. The next day, the guide told us that this is the character of the movie Flow that won the Oscar Award, it is a Latvian movie, and every Latvian is proud of winning the Oscar Award, so they made this dog and placed it between the house of the black head and the City Hall.
Opposite the Blackhead building is Riga City Hall.
The Statue of Roland, the legendary night that symbolized freedom and justice, these things we got the next day on a guided tour. he said it is a replica, the original was destroyed during the 2nd World War. At night, it is flashing with golden light.
St. peter church in the Nightlight.
At the tower, which was visible from almost everywhere while walking around, and made me curious to get to the top of it.
Some people were waiting there to climb the tower to get a night view.
Our hotel was located very close to this church. so we ended our walk when we came to our hotel street. The tuk-tuk service in the old town near our hotel.
After walking for 1 hour, we came back to the hotel and had food in the restaurant, which is on the ground floor. This is just an introduction to Riga, what I explored in 1 hour. See you soon with the details.
These photos were all taken by me or my husband, and they are my property. Do not share any of it without asking me or without my permission on any other platform/media.
Thank you, take care.

It was a nighttime walk through a truly enchanting place. St. Peter's Church has fascinating architectural details, and the light from its tower is very striking.
Riga looks like a beautiful and charming city! Even with the rain and cold weather it still has that magical European vibe, especially around the old town.
Nice to place to visit I want to visit there someday
