Hello travelers of the @worldmappin community!
Today I have the pleasure of inviting you to once again explore and walk the streets of my city, Ciego de Ávila. We'll take in its urban styles, landscapes, and the natural atmosphere of everyday local life. I'll also show you various central locations like the Boulevard, a MaraCuba event, colonial buildings, and rural spaces, all the way until sunset.
I hope you like the photographs and enjoy each of these urban and architectural designs. Join me on this wonderful tour!

Hoy tengo el placer de invitarlos a recorrer y caminar otro día, por las calles de mi ciudad Ciego de Ávila, desde sus estilos urbanísticos, paisajes y ambiente natural del avileño de a pie. También les presentaré un encuentro por distintos lugares céntricos como el Boulevar, un evento de MaraCuba, edificios coloniales y espacios rurales hasta el atardecer.

Starting the walk, I found out from a friend that it was MaraCuba day in the Avileña province.
What is MaraCuba? It's a sports-recreational event where running enthusiasts participate. The idea is for them to attend the marathon, exercise their muscles, and run the established 10 km.
Comenzando con la caminata, me enteré por una amistad que era el día del MaraCuba en la provincia avileña.
¿Que es es el MaraCuba? Es un evento deportivo-recreativo donde participan amantes de las carreras, la idea es que asistan al maratón, ejerzan sus músculos y corran los 10 km establecidos.
All around, you can see the relaxed atmosphere, with many streets closed for the occasion. Besides the competition among the athletes, it's a celebration for the community to participate in and push their bodies to the limit. Everyone is part of an event as surprising as it is historic, born from a desire to make a lasting impact.
Afterward, I headed off to continue my routine and observe a spectacular sunset like today's, entering through the boulevard.
A sus alrededores vez el ambiente tranquilo, muchas calles cerradas para la ocasión, que además de competir entre jugadores, es una fiesta para el pueblo de participar y llevar su cuerpo al límite. Todos viven un acontecimiento tan sorpresivo como histórico, que nació con la voluntad de trascender.
Luego me dirigí a seguir mi rutina para observar un atardecer de lujo como el de hoy, entrando por el boulevar.
This main area is very familiar and welcoming to me. Nestled along the commercial center of "Independence" Street and conceived with modern stylistic elements alongside existing heritage features, it's characterized by an eclectic architecture.
It features interesting sculptures, galleries, shops, and important cultural venues that host events throughout the year.
Ya esta zona principal es muy amigable para mí, enclavado a lo largo del centro comercial de la calle "Independencia" y concebido con elementos de estilo moderno y valores patrimoniales existentes, se caracteriza por una arquitectura ecléctica.
Presenta interesantes esculturas, galerías, tiendas comerciales y escenarios importantes culturales durante todo el año.
This architectural design is always one of my favorites: The Rueda Hotel 1920, the most eccentric and iconic building in the city, with its eclectic style. Its interior features a spacious lobby, furniture, rooms, and antique decorations, each with its own stories, full of memories.
Leaving this second tour along the boulevard, so colorful and filled with gems from that era, I now head towards more rustic places.
Esta diseño arquitectónico siempre es de mis favoritos, El Hotel Rueda 1920, el más excéntrico edificio e icónico de la ciudad, con su estilo ecléctico. Cuenta con su interior de un amplio lobby, muebles, habitaciones y adornos antiguos con historias, lleno de recuerdos.
Saliendo de este 2do recorrido por el boulevar, tan colorido y con grandes joyas de la época, me dirijo a lugares rústicos.
My journey continues in search of beautiful sunset photos, noticing a calm population, with clear streets and a typically unhurried pace. Here, the traditional architectural heritage of homes and monuments is reflected.
This train avenue is dedicated to part of the railway transport connecting to municipal regions of the Avileña province. Its statues are dedicated to Cuban broadcasting, a commemorative space for dates related to the radio station.
Mi travesía continúa en busca de hermosas fotos de atardecer, notando una población calmada, con calles despejadas y un ritmo pausado típico, donde se refleja la herencia arquitectónica tradicional de hogares y monumentos.
Esta avenida del tren, es dedicada a parte del transporte ferroviario a regiones municipales de la provincia avileña. Sus estatuas son dedicadas a la locución cubana, espacio conmemorativo para fechas de la emisora radial.
As the afternoon progresses, the sun paints the city with warm tones that transform every corner: from the historic facades to the most modern buildings.
The rhythm of Avileño life can be felt with every step, in every lengthening shadow at dusk, in every passing face that leaves behind a glimpse of everyday culture.
A medida que avanza la tarde, el sol pinta la ciudad con tonos cálidos que transforman cada rincón: desde las fachadas históricas hasta los edificios más modernos.
El ritmo avileño se siente en cada paso, en cada sombra que se alarga al atardecer, en cada rostro que pasa dejando atrás un destello de cultura cotidiana.
I head into the green areas with palm trees, sports spaces, and spectacular golden light to take photographs, such as the one of the statue of Máximo Gómez in this central park, nestled among the 9-story buildings of the locality.
Further ahead, there is a square named Camilo Cienfuegos, designed for revolutionary events on the island, such as marches, festivals, and political gatherings. It is well-maintained with its gardens.
Me adentro a las áreas verdes con palmeras, espacios deportivos y luz dorada espectacular para tomar fotografías, como la de la estatua de Máximo Gómez en este céntrico parque en los edificios 9 plantas de la localidad.
Mas adelante existe una plaza nombrada Camilo Cienfuegos diseñada para eventos revolucionarios de la isla, como marchas, festivales y actos políticos, bien conservada con sus jardines.
Walking is a healthy passion, and seeing Ciego de Ávila at sunset is not just a common sight; it's a slow sigh amidst light traffic, a golden poem painted between parks and avenues, between history and nature. Walking through it at this hour is a reminder that even in daily routine, there is beauty waiting to be found.
Caminar es una pasión saludable y el ver Ciego de Ávila al atardecer no es solo un lugar común; es un suspiro lento de poco tránsito, un poema dorado pintado entre parques y avenidas, entre historia y naturaleza. Caminarla a esta hora es recordar que incluso en la rutina diaria, hay belleza esperando ser encontrada.
