Hello Hivers,
In this blog, I will take you to a beautiful place called Sissu. It is a small village of Lahaul and Spiti district and situated on Manali - Leh highway. This place is 40 Kms away from Manali and it is on the right bank of Chenab river.
This place became so popular after the opening of the great Atal Tunnel which connects Kullu district to Lahaul Valley. Atal tunnel is a 9 Km long tunnel and the main purpose of building this tunnel was to provide all weather connectivity to the villagers. Before this tunnel Lahaul valley used to be cut off during winters.
We planned a day trip to Sissu because I had some guest who wanted to see this place. I live in Manali and it takes 40 minutes by car to reach this place if the traffic conditions are normal.
It was March month and all the mountains were covered with snow and the view was breathtaking. The most part of the river was frozen and road was full of vehicles because of the heavy flow of the tourists. I usually do not like to visit Lahaul during tourist season because this place become too much crowded. But I had guests who wanted to see this place that is why I came here. The best time to visit according to me is September to November.
But honestly the best view is right after the winter season because you can see the snow covered mountains this time. This is the reason of heavy tourist flow this time.
The beauty of Lahaul is so unreal and it feels like you are in heaven. This place is becoming more popular after people started making instagram reels here and now people prefer to stay here instead of Manali. It is a good thing as well as bad because more the tourists will and more the local people will get income sources. But more the tourists will and more will be the traffic and living cost.
We spent a couple of hours sitting here and then came back to my home. My guests were so happy and they thanked me for taking them to this beautiful place. I sometimes think that I can be a good tour gide. LOL.
That is all in this blog friends. See you in the next one.
Namaste!

You're welcome! :)
Wow, what a breathtaking place. Many guests are enjoying the scenery. The snow adds more beauty to its landscape. This place will become more popular in the future and perhaps other sightseeing activities will also emerge around this place. Well done for being an accommodating tourist guide.
I am glad you liked my blog. Thank you very much. ♥️🙏🏼
