RE: Journey around the world: Thailand

in Worldmappin2 years ago

Hey, thank you for the advice. Back in 2016, there was no such thing as Hive or https://travelfeed.io. :) Otherwise, of course, why not. However, this particular trip was 12 months long and it was more about improvisation, meeting random people, taking random routes, exploring random streets, hitchhiking, and so on.

If next time we will come for a 2 week holiday, then yes, that will be another story. There are only a few photos in this article for a reason. During such extended trips the mood is not always the same. While being in Thailand we left the camera 'at home' 75 percent of the time. The thing is, sometimes it feels good to take a break from the tech.

I am still thinking about a 1 month-long solo trip to Pakistan whenever the mood is right. Most likely this time I will not bring any gadgets at all. Well, maybe except the phone to call my wife. Somehow people scroll down those social platform feeds and think that that's all there is. The real-life happens in spaces between words and gaps between lines (and photos)...

ah. the 2016 was not evident to my from your blog, at all. 😊 that was half a lifetime ago! 😆

Just passing through... I get it. 2 weeks wouldn't be way long enough, since some of the best places to see in this region require at least a day to get there, and a day back.

And be in touch when you're in your planning phases. Funnily enough, I'm having coffee with a popular mainstream blogger this morning to specifically help her with these same issues - how to find and connect with the unique travel and soul of a place when you don't speak the language.

Connecting wiht a local who speaks the language is everything.

Good morning (evening) @artemislives,

Yes, I agree 100%. :)
