During Covid Lockdown me and my friends decided to go on this trek in the month of June 2021 after being trapped in our houses for months.
Nestled in the lap of the mighty Himalayas, the Yulakanda trek in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh, unfolds like a mesmerizing tapestry of adventure and tranquility.
Embarking on a journey that transcended the ordinary .
Commencing our expedition with a bus ride to Yula village, little did we know that our path would be intertwined with an unexpected little yet loyal companion – a four-legged guide we fondly named our trekking companion.
The little charismatic dog not only shared our enthusiasm but also led the way, offering a sense of camaraderie as we traversed the meandering paths of Yulakanda.
The trek unfolded like a storybook, each step revealing a new chapter of natural wonders. Our destination, the pinnacle of the trek, cradled the highest Krishna temple in the world, a spiritual oasis nestled serenely in the middle of a crystalline pond. The surreal sight heightened the beauty of the place, and the tranquil atmosphere was accentuated by the absence of human presence, leaving us in awe of the untouched wilderness that surrounded us.
Our basecamp on the peak, established within the snug confines of our tents, allowed us to soak in the unspoiled beauty of the landscape. Two days in this idyllic setting felt like a timeless escape.
We spent our days exploring the nearby mountain ranges, sharing the pristine environment with the resident wildlife.
As the sun bid farewell on the third day, we reluctantly began our descent, leaving behind a piece of our hearts in the tranquil embrace of Yulakanda. The quietude and the breathtaking vistas left an indelible mark, and although our physical presence departed, our souls lingered, yearning for the everlasting peace that this haven had bestowed upon us.
In the end, the Yulakanda trek was not just a physical journey but a spiritual odyssey. It was a dance with the mountains, a conversation with the wind, and a pilgrimage to the heart of Kinnaur, where the echoes of our footsteps resonated with the timeless hymn of the Himalayas.
