Hello itinerants all over the world and hive community! What's up with you guys? It's another awesome day to make an awesome travel blog just for you! As you notice, I have been promoting the tourism of my country, Philippines with my previous articles. As I have always mentioned in my articles, I have this mission not just to promote every piece of gem that Philippines has but also to give my readers the best travel experiences and bring them to wonderful places that they have never been to through my articles. I also aim to bring my local viewers to different awesome places in each corner of the world. I am grateful, honor, and excited to share you the things I have learned and tried during my solo backpacking trip in the Lion City, Singapore.
Just so you know, this was my first solo backpacking trip outside the country. If you are asking how I was feeling about it, I think it's pretty normal to feel a bit anxious when traveling alone at the very first time far away from your homeland. But nonetheless, I was very excited to conquer my fears and taste new experiences by myself. And now, let's get started! As you already know, I am bringing to one of the sovereign city-state and islands in Southeast Asia, the one and only Singapore. For now, I will only be featuring the things that you can try and places that you can visit when you happen to visit Singapore. I will be making a separate travel guide which includes my travel itineraries and all in all budget while staying the place.
WHAT TO DO IN SINGAPORE?
1.) MERLION PARK
Singapore is truly much more than the sum of its various tourist attractions. I can personally say that it's one of the most innovative countries in the world where opportunities, possibilities and experiences are created each day. Literally, people create experiences through amazing man-made attractions and successfully influence other countries by being "a get together country". Our first stop would be the famous Merlion. You have never been to Singapore if you have not at least taken a photo of this famous signature landmark of Singapore. It is situated at One Fullerton, Singapore just a walk away from the Central Business District. Upon reaching the place, you will get to see it's major tourist attraction which is the "Merlion Statue". It is said to be a mythical creature of a lion with a fish body. There are actually two merlions in the area. The other one is a small merlion which you'll firstly bump upon entering the park. The huge merlion is exactly 8.6 meters tall and amazingly sprouts water from its mouth.
2.) UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE
When I was little, I only had two dreamed places to visit. These are the Disneyland and the Universal studios. One of the major tourist attractions that Singapore has is the Universal Studios. It's basically a theme park with 24 extreme rides, shows and attractions in seven themed zones. Characters from your favorite blockbuster films and television series are being put into reality for best user experience.
3.) THE BUDDHA TOOTH RELIC TEMPLE
This sanctified Buddha Tooth Relic temple is situated at Chinatown district Singapore. It's one of the most memorable experience you can get when traveling to Singapore. It gives you goosebumps for it's very rich in art and history. The architecture is inspired by the Tang-Dynasty. It is obviously dedicated to the Maitreya Buddha which is the Buddaha of the future. It's just less than 10 minute walk from the Chinatown train station.
4.) SRI LAYAN SITHI VINAYAGAR TEMPLE
The temple is situated in midst of China Town at the junction of Keong Saik Road and Kreta Ayer Road. Nagarthars also called, Nattukkottai Chettiars are famous for being a money lending community from Southern part of Tamilnadu, India. It's just astonishing to see this unique and one of a kind architecture with rich culture and history.
5.) THE SENTOSA BOARDWALK
The very first reason why you should try the Sentosa Boardwalk is that it's absolutely for free. If you are not taking the cable car going to Sentosa Island, why not have a good walk and enjoy the ocean view along the way and meet awesome people going the same way. It's more lively on weekend for there are shopping choices and food stalls in the area.
That's basically it, if it happens that you have visited the place already, please care to share your experiences in the comment section below. Everyone's glad to hear the stories of yours! Just always remember that learning is a lifetime process. You can learn from your experiences, trips and from other people. The world is so vast. Explore and Learn! Traveling isn't is as expensive as you think! There's a so called travelling on a frugal way with a purpose! I will be posting the second part of my Singapore Trip as soon as possible. Stay tuned then.
DEUCES!
