Recently, my workmate invited me to their fiesta. Their place is a bit far from the highway — you have to go through a narrow road and then head slightly uphill. But that’s totally fine with me, since I actually enjoy that kind of adventure.
It was raining that time, so the road was quite muddy, but no problem — I’m used to situations like that. We arrived around 7 PM — it was me, my brother, and two friends. My workmate actually encouraged me to bring some company since they weren’t expecting a lot of guests.
While we were having dinner, my workmate mentioned that there’s a waterfall nearby called Tumalog Falls. As soon as I heard that, I got excited — because waterfalls are exactly my kind of thing! We all agreed to visit the falls the next day.
By the way, we didn’t stay overnight at their house — we just rented a room nearby since there were a lot of accommodations available.
The next morning, around 8 AM, we headed to the falls. We decided to go early to avoid the crowds. It’s a bit far from the main road, and the only way up is by habal-habal (motorbike taxi) because cars aren't allowed due to the steep road. You can walk if you want, but it might take a while and use up your time.
Tip:
If you're commuting, after getting off the bus at the Tumalog Falls crossing, there will be habal-habal drivers offering rides to the parking area. It’s best to negotiate a round-trip fare and ask if they can wait for you until you're done at the falls.
Habal-habal (motorbike taxi)fare: ₱50-₱100 (depending on your agreement)
Entrance fee:
Adults: ₱50
Children (3–12 years old): ₱25
Seniors/PWDs (with ID): ₱20
Even before you reach the actual falls, you can already see the stunning view — it’s tall and beautiful. I couldn’t take pictures during the ride because I was holding tightly onto the driver for safety. The road going up is quite steep, so safety first!
When we finally arrived, all I could say was, “Wow, amazing.” The falls were extra chilly because of the weather, but I still took a dip — I just can’t say my trip is complete if I don’t swim in the water! We didn’t take pictures while swimming since we were all too busy enjoying the cold water.

If you plan to visit any falls, it’s always best to do your research beforehand or ask the locals. Sometimes Tumalog Falls may be closed or dried up, especially during long dry seasons — so always check the status of the falls before your trip to avoid disappointment.
You definitely won’t regret visiting. Once you're there, all the tiredness from the long trip just fades away.

Wow such a beautiful waterfall and such clear aquamarine water! We have waterfalls in Wales but there don't look as warm and inviting outside of Summer.
