Hace unos pocos días visite Falcón, en esta visita me hablaron muchísimo esos días de un lugar que me decían era hermoso, uno de esos sitios que se convierten en el paraíso cuando hace calor, pero más allá de eso que te alegra la vida, por la belleza que está frente a tus ojos. Pero aunque me hablaban mucho de este lindo lugar, lo que no se mencionaba es que día iríamos a visitarlo, así que cada vez se acercaba más la fecha de nuestra partida, por lo que estaba perdiendo las esperanzas de poder conocer este lugar.
Pero felizmente el sábado antes de venirnos luego de salir en la mañana y pasar un rato entre amigos, se hizo en plan de subir a las cataratas de Hueque. Como todo en pueblo nuevo el lugar en el que estábamos, queda algo retirado en distancia. La verdad es que tenía miedo de que no nos diera tiempo de estar un buen rato, porque salimos por la tarde. Pero resulta que eso estaba súper cerca, como a unos 10 minutos en carro, así que pudimos llegar y aún estaba abierto.

During my visit to Falcón, people talked to me a lot about a place they said was beautiful, one of those places that becomes paradise when it's hot, but beyond that, it makes your life happier because of the beauty that is right before your eyes. But although they talked a lot about this beautiful place, they didn't mention which day we would visit it, so as the date of our departure drew nearer, I was losing hope of ever getting to see it.
But luckily, on the Saturday before we left, after going out in the morning and spending some time with friends, we made plans to go up to the Hueque waterfalls. Like everything else in the new town where we were staying, it was a bit far away. To be honest, I was afraid we wouldn't have enough time to enjoy it because we left in the afternoon. But it turned out to be really close, about a 10-minute drive, so we were able to get there and it was still open.

There were four cars, all of them completely full, and some even had extra passengers because there weren't enough seats. The park usually closes at 5 pm, and we arrived at 4:30 pm, so we planned to enjoy this beautiful place as much as possible during the half hour we had. But something great happened: when the park staff realized there were so many of us and that half an hour wouldn't be enough, they let us stay an extra hour.
This was a wonderful gesture because, even though their workday was over, they decided to stay an extra hour just so we could enjoy ourselves. I thought that was really nice because I had come from quite far away, so I really wanted to be able to stay longer. To get to the main waterfall, we climbed and climbed and climbed many steps. It was at the top. But as soon as I reached the last step and saw the waterfall, I was impressed and thanked the park staff even more deeply.

It's always impressive to see such beautiful, natural places, because although concrete stairs were built to make the climb easier, everything else is completely natural. There are large rocks that have been shaped by the constant flow of water, and these have also become very, very smooth. As soon as I touched the water, I felt it was super cold, but the more I felt it, the nicer it got. The waterfall was strong, although I was told that it is stronger at other times of the year.
Getting under it was a challenge. I had to take off my glasses and walk very slowly so I wouldn't fall, and luckily I didn't. I was careful and simply went slowly so I could enjoy it without any danger. First, I sat at the bottom, under a very strong waterfall that felt like a relaxing massage for a while and then became somewhat painful. So I wanted to go higher, where some of my friends were.

Yo tuve algo de miedo de hacerlo, así que me quedé sentada cerca, haciendo compañía mientras el agua caía en mi cabeza. There was a large hole in the rocks above that looked like a small pool. It was full of water, and some people got in. I was a little afraid to do so, so I sat nearby, keeping them company while the water fell on my head. We stayed there for a long time, feeling the cold water and listening to the sound of the waterfall, while we joked around, talked, and of course took lots of photos.
I can only say that this waterfall was so beautiful and that I loved discovering it with all my heart. I liked its temperature and will probably think of it every time I feel hot and want to cool off in a river.
