Adventure to Cagsawa Ruins

in Worldmappin8 months ago (edited)

Hello dear HIVE friends. I just come back from a long trip to Legazpi, Province of Albay. On this trip I visited the Cagsawa Ruins, located in Barangay Busay, Daraga, Albay, Philippines.

The feeling was like stepping into a real life event happened in Febraury 1814. The big boulder of rocks scattered all over the place, the old church buried underground as it's bell tower remains sticking up from the ground. This remains is now known as the Cagsawa Ruins.

Cagsawa Ruins was not all about the remains of the old church tower, but the story behind it, interest me the most. The church (Cagsaua) is become a grave yard of more than 1,200 people trying to escape the Mayon volcano's lava flow and ash. Since these people are trying to seek shelter on the church for safety, but sadly, they couldn’t made it. The story is sadden me and excites me a lot with ghost story. (That will be another story)

This is me standing beside the two Siling Labuyo.

With all the sad tragedy of the pass, at present, the view behind the Cagsawa ruins, is a perfect cone shape Mayon Volcano. It was so perfect, beautiful and so looked so peaceful.

Sili Ice Cream

Around the Cagsawa ruins, there were lots of stores selling souvenirs and the famous Chili ice cream.

Chili ice cream comes in 3 different variant, the mild, the extreme and the in between mild and extreme. Out of curiosity, I tried extreme or the plain Chile ice cream, which in my opinion it's so good!

Walking around the Cagsawa ruins make me think that, how truly powerful a nature is. It also made me realize that even the toughest structure we build.

Things we consider our safe domain in time of tragedy like churches or even a bunker, mother nature wrath can still vanish it to ruins in just a blink of an eye. It is a reminder to us humans, to respect our mother earth.

Wow, what a beautiful place, decorated with truly extraordinary natural views

Thank you my friend.

Saw the ruin's picture since 3rd grade but never had been near it. Glad you liked their sili ice cream delicacy

Yes, I like the Sili ice cream. It wasn't hot as I expected, maybe because it is cold.

Perhaps the cream neutralizes the hotness of the chili

Yeah, that's another reason why a plain sili or extreme is tolerated.

That's right. Mother Nature is Queen and we owe her respect. Look at all that beauty you could breathe in. Man can build beautiful and imposing things but he needs Her and She will reclaim it when She wants it.

Chilli ice cream... Is it spicy? Oh, I can't imagine an ice cream like that.

Plain chili ice cream for me isn't that hot and spicy.
