RE: Kokoda Trail - A life journey

Kindness, humility, generosity, persistence, endurance, self-reliance and respect, manners, chivalry, gentlemanliness, candour, work-ethic...The list goes on...

Having heard of the WW2 on the Islands this was a most interesting read, to learn more about what transpired in this region.

Over the years have read many books about WW2, always found them although not the best of topics in history, inspiring, realization of what people are able to overcome through sheer determination.

Well done on the hike, fulfilling some part of you needing to experience this event.

The dichotomy of war...It brings out the best and worst in humanity.

There are many lessons to learn in studying war history, not least of which is how to avoid it although the ability to do so seems to elude humanity...And so the endless cycle of best and worst continues.

Thanks for taking a read...It's long...I think my longest single post in almost four years. I appreciate you taking a look.

History has taught us, do we ever learn?

Contorted stories passed down through generations, or via other mediums of communication creating fear, followed by aggression never evades human kind.

Man knows no boundary when it comes to regurgitating history right from the early religions through the ages right up to date.

Extreme terrain to wage a war in, burial grounds a grim reminder. Seeing the conditions through your lens, I will be sure to look out for the film.

I'm not sure if the movie is on YouTube. It came out a while ago. Worth a look.

Will hunt it down, have seen some of the Pacific islands war movies, absolute horrors beyond imagination, some good men made it out to tell the story on both sides.
