English Version
In Cuba, art has always been something that has characterized Cubans. In our people, great personalities have been formed in all areas of the arts, so Cubans are very closely tied to everything that means creation and beauty. In Old Havana, a sample of this expression can be found almost without searching, since its streets are informal open-air galleries where art is not enclosed, but shown in every corner. Here, talent is not a luxury but an essential part of Cuban identity.
There is no need to search too much, since inspiration appears on its own while walking through the streets. It shows up just as much in a small shop, in the doorway of a house, in the graffiti and paintings on worn-out walls, or in the sculptures that rise in squares and parks. Art here is not a luxury nor an ornament, it is part of daily life.
In the streets of Havana, artists are not only in the official halls and the large galleries but on every corner. On many occasions, the appearance of the streets, sometimes faded and worn, is filled with color thanks to the talent of local creators, who often leave their work as a gift for the communities where they live and have their workshops.
Everywhere, in the corner we least imagine, we find a piece that reminds us that Cuban talent is in that improvisation and creativity that does not need great resources but only inspiration. I am always amazed at the way artists turn any space into a form of expression.
Lately, Old Havana has become a privileged place to enjoy Cuban culture, and not only for those of us who live on the island but also for foreign visitors. The great diversity of spaces allows creators to exhibit their works in craft fairs, small galleries, improvised shops or in the doorways of houses.
Old Havana is proof that Cuban art is not limited but rather expands and is shared, and that is one of the things that makes this place unique.
I hope you have enjoyed the tour and that, like me, you have had the opportunity to be surprised by the talent and art in our streets.
Cheers, and until next time.

Oh there's also graffiti wall in Cuba. Is it also part of their culture or history?
Yes, lately you can see a lot of graffiti. There was a time when they weren’t very common and were even frowned upon, but street art has become quite popular, especially in the area of Old Havana.
I see. It’s almost like Italy too because of the graffiti. An art indeed.
Beautiful post,, old havana really looks like a living open air gallery. The colors murals and street art you shared show how creativity is part of everyday life there..
The arts seem to be quite alive. Your entire blog is good too.
