Bohol Half Tour 2023

Matti's birthday was extra special because my husband's family from Oslob joined the celebration. It was quite a happy day for the kids because there was a bouncy space shuttle that I rented. I will post about that next time but today, allow me to share with you what we did a day after my little one’s birthday as we went on a quick tour around the island.

It was my parents-in-law’s first time to be in Bohol and my mother-in-law is afraid of the waves, she have never been to any other island prior to this trip except that short trip to Dumaguete which happened a few weeks before they arrived in Bohol, the family did that so she could get a glimpse of how it feels like to be on a boat.

On the day of their trip, they got a few hiccups like the weather, there was a storm in the northern part of the country and it was rainy and the sea was not smooth which my mother-in-law even suggested not to go because of the weather but they still went. Then the schedule of the boat was changed as there were only a few passengers, so from the trip of 9 AM, they were only able to go around 2 PM.

But they still arrived safely which was the only important thing. We met in Tagbilaran City and then we traveled to Guindulman which took more than two hours as we have to get dinner as well.

That was a long story but this blog is actually about our tour around a few tourist spots in Bohol. Our first stop was in the Tarsier Conservation Area in Bilar but before going out, we had a few group pictures with the two families.

My husband took a shortcut when we arrived in Dimiao, it took us 45 minutes to arrive here.

Entrance Fee: Php 120
Kids (5 years below): Free

The tour took only a few minutes, but this is definitely a must when visiting Bohol because these primates are only seen on the island and nowhere else in the country.

These are the smallest primates which are nocturnal and very sensitive if you are making noise and they get stressed, they’ll bump their heads and kill themselves, that’s why it is very important to keep quiet and definitely no flash photography too.

I appreciate that the caretakers would allow the tourists and guests to have their photos taken with the tarsier. For me, that’s the highlight - having a photo of the tarsier with the entire family! If you visit this spot, make sure to get that done with your group!

Make sure to also grab some souvenirs on the way out of the tour. It rained when we were in the place but thankfully, they offer free use of umbrellas, make sure to just return it back after.

Just a few minutes away, we stopped by the Man-Made Forest which is also a famous spot in the island.

Entrance fee: Php 0

With thousands of tall trees along the road, this place is surely cool and a good photo opportunity! We had lunch here, we brought packed ones before heading out from the house. There were other groups as well who were having their lunch in the area.

Group photos are of course mandatory! Thankful to other tourists who offered to take our photos. She was a sweet one!

From the Man-Made Forest, we went straight to the Mirrors of the World. This is in SIkatuna and is really famous now. They have a lot of things going on here and there are also still other phases that are still being worked on. Currently, they are constructing Phase 3, Phase 1 and 2 are all done.

I believe that this is not the first time that you have read about this tourist spot so I won't go into detail but you must visit this when you travel to Bohol

Entrance Fee: Php 150
Environmental Fee: Php 15

Every corner is very insta-worthy but you must check out their giant Kois. I was blown away by their sizes, I guess it's the biggest Koi I had seen in my life. Also, it's recommended that you go up to the other sections like the Metropolis and the Rio de Janiero one to have another perspective of the place. There's a restaurant at the Metropolis area.

And of course, you must get a group photo with the Bohollywood sign at the back!

The nest on the list was Panglao's South Farm.

Entrance Fee: Php 190, 100 consumable.
Kids 2 years old and below are free!

Back in April, there were so many animals in here so I was also expecting the same but for some reason, there were only a few but the kids still liked the part where they could feed the animals like the rabbits and goats. I was just wondering why there were only a few animals unlike back then.

Unfortunately, the family didn't like horseback riding. There was a free option and there was also a carabao-sled riding which they didn't avail as well. We ended up at the pond where they went fishing but was really sad to say that the grilling fee was at Php 500.

We had consumables so we ordered a pizza, some chips and fried chicken as well as drinks. I wasn't able to take a photo of them as we were already getting the food and drinks right away after serving, I guess we got hungry!

After South Farm, we headed to Alona beach. It was late and ther was no more sun but we were entertained by the lights at the beach front. The kids loved playing with the fine sand, I appreciated how beautiful the white sand of Alona this time and I believe it is really nice to stay here for the sunset and even in the early morning. I will come back next time!

That's it for our Bohol Tour! Thanks for reading!
