If I had more energy, I could have explored the flower dome more but...
This is what's on my mind as I review the photos I took at the Flower Dome. It's the next place we visited after Cloud Forest and I was just stunned with how huge the place and the way they get to maintain such attraction!
Singapore's Flower Dome holds the Guinness World Record for the largest glass greenhouse! According to the gardensbythebay website, its volume is equivalent to 75 Olympic-sized swimming pools, it is covered by 3,332 glass panels, the temperature inside ranges between 23°C to 25°C and the flower field hall can accommodate 1,000 visitors.
It was still mind blowing to know that these panels are fitted with specially selected glass that allows optimal light in for plants while minimizing solar heat, allowing the conservatory to be cooled more efficiently. Thorough planning and in depth material selection was done to make this possible! Knowing that it is the largest greenhouse in the whole world is just amazing and I am blessed to be able to step into this wonder!
There are many section within the Flower Dome. In the photo below, you'll find me sitting at the area called the Baobabs. There's a pillar structure too at my back which I was not sure what it signify but obviously, I was not in the best mood at that time. My baby was already crying because he wants milk and silly me, I wore a dress that's not too stretchy.
I have to sit here and feed Matti while I told the husband to go around and I'll follow as soon as the baby sleeps. We had our lightweight stroller with us and so I just have to give Matti a few minutes to latch and then sleep.
I must admit, the activities in Singapore involves a lot of walking and by that time, we had been walking the entire day! It was past three in the afternoon when we went inside the Flower Dome so it was understandable that Matti was also tired and wanted a nap!
But I was glad that Matti got active again after the latch. He stopped and played around, I thought he would sleep but nope! I guess he just did a power nap! We walked around and found this wicked dragon sculpture which is made of driftwood. It's amazing! There were other sculpture too made of the same material which were placed at different parts of the area. There were goats, snakes, and others.
Here's a view from the second floor:
While this is a permanent structure, the good thing about it is that they have changing displays in the Flower Field to reflect different seasons and festivals all over the world. You can find the information on what are the displays at a specific month through the website gardensbythebay.com.sg. During our visit, it was "A Spanish Serenade with Sunflowers."
You might see these flowers looking like artificial ones but these were real ones! The guests can go around and even touch the flowers! Majority took photos, selfies, group pictures, and even vlog while at the field.
I don't know much about flowers so I would just let these photos below tell you how beautiful the flowers were during our visit!
The management also had recreated the Spain’s iconic Royal Alcázars of Seville which has a famous courtyard known as Patio de las Doncellas showing off rare Hispano-Muslim architecture. Aside from that, there were displays imitating the private houses of Córdoba, a city in Spain famous for their patio houses which are heavily decorated with flowers every year during the festival known as Fiesta de los Patios.
When we were at this space here, I couldn't help but think of Isabela Madrigal is a major character in Disney's 2021 animated feature film Encanto, this could pass as her bedroom!
I found a great spot for a photo at the courtyard. I asked Matti and James to go to the center while I was on the other side. I was really wondering why there were no people in that area when it seemed to me as the perfect spot for an Instagrammable photo opportunity! I also took photos of my parents and my mother here.
By the time that we had reached the end of the courtyard, we decided to go out as we still have plans to go to the Marina Bay Sands' Skypark not knowing that there's a long line waiting for us. But I highly suggest that if you have plans on visiting the Flower Dome, you can go here during the mid day as so you can enjoy the plants and flowers in a hot afternoon away from the sun! Also, you have to check the other gardens - Mediterranean, South American, South African, and Australian Gardens.
At the end of the tour, we were all laughing because we were back at the souvenir shop! It's of course a strategy! You can get your souvenir items at the shop and also they sell water and other drinks. Getting around the two observatories can be draining so it's nice that they have a shop that sells food and drinks as well as we exit out.
Entrance fee to the Flower Dome costs $15 for adults and $9 for children and seniors. To save, we bought Klook's Combo offer Flower Dome & Cloud Forest + Sands Skypark Observation Deck for $54.10

I think that almost every museum (or any sort of a tourist attraction) has a souvenir shop at the end of the tour, and indeed, it's a smart marketing decision.
I like how you built your post - it's interesting and catchy with great photos.
