Lake Louise Ski Resort
Welcome to Lake Louise Ski Resort, located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.
There are three places called Lake Louise, the lake, the town and this one the ski resort.
With over 4,200 acres, it's one of the largest ski resorts in North America.
There are 10 lifts, that take you up 4 different mountain faces, so waiting in line is out of the ordinary here. There is no on mountain lodging, Banff the nearest town is a good 30 min, so being a bit out of the way and the huge area it encompasses helps reduce the crowded, lineups like at many resorts.
This little lodge "Temple Lodge" can only be reached by ski, or snow machine and sits in a valley and is a welcome break for a coffee and snack, one of my favourite places to catch my breath.
The ski season kicks off the first week of November and concludes in early May, that's a lots of opportunity to get out there, so my season pass will be well worth it.
This world class resort is home to the World Cup races, the men's just concluded and the women's will be next week, I will be going to watch.
Amazing views are everywhere, and many amenities, restaurants etc, the only drawbacks would be the lack of powder, there is not as much powdered snow like some places.
It does get cold, which is why the season is so long, but be prepared, they do get cold snaps, one year it was -28C for the 5 days I was there.
Overall an awesome experience, and my personal favourite place to ski in the area, I have tried them all.
