Hello Hivers
Policeman's Creek
Welcome to a hike on Policeman's Creek, in Canmore, Alberta, Canada.
This pleasant level trail passes right through downtown Canmore. Being situated in a valley, many hikes are a strenuous uphill for 3-4 Km till you break out of the forest....
and enjoy the scenery. If you don't have the time, can't physically do the climbs, or are tired and need a relaxing day then this is an amazing hike.
The creek, is ....
fragmented with many branches, and the trail is as well, but no matter which route you take the scenery is stunning, and a slim chance of getting lost.
There was a bear warning sign posted, yes they do come into town ...
periodically, but I looked extensively and didn't see any tracks in the snow on this day. I have seen many elk, and deer in the area. Usually people don't dispose of garbage properly and this attracts bears, especially if they got a free meal once, ....
they just keep coming back for more.
There is a boardwalk that traverses the swampy section, and in the Summer months it is a ....
popular spot for birdwatchers, both song birds and waterfowl frequent the area.
Policeman's Creek is mostly a connector trail, with numerous branches, many are colour coded, so it's....
best to bring a map or GPS if you plan to spend an entire afternoon walking the trail.
Thanks for enjoying Policeman's Creek with me.
