In these school vacations visiting the city of Merida, one of the places we could not miss is the Plaza Bolivar, is located in the city center between av.3 and 4, is a meeting point, because in this place we meet with friends and family, in turn is a place of rest and recreation, it is also very close to some tourist sites. Plaza Bolivar is the perfect place to take a break after a long walk through the different streets and stores that surround the center, here we can sit down to rest, enjoy a delicious ice cream or just watch the people walking around the city, but it is also a place surrounded by history, with a beautiful garden, which is very well maintained. I really like the atmosphere that breathes in this place.
One of the things that distinguish the Plaza Bolivar is the statue of Simon Bolivar. This work is beautiful and very tall. Simón Bolívar is on horseback and in his hand he holds a sword. All on a marble pedestal, here we see him covered with pigeons and in the square we always find these beautiful birds, which like to be fed by people; in fact they are very spoiled here.
Sitting in this square and having a nice conversation is something relaxing, because the vegetation gives it a lot of freshness and also, the people of Merida are characterized by being very friendly and kind. How many stories will this square keep? By the way, today I wanted to share these pictures with you, because today is another anniversary of the city of Merida, which was founded on October 9, 1558, by a Spaniard named Juan Rodriguez Suarez. So, Happy Birthday, Merida!
Around the square there are various businesses such as restaurants, stores and institutions with historical structures such as the governor's office of the state of Merida, the Cathedral Basilica and the Hermes building where the offices of the courts are located and very close to the square is the rectorate of the University of the Andes. Something I really like is that all these buildings and shopping centers have a beautiful architecture, with colonial buildings.
Definitely, this square, in my opinion, is a very nice and quiet place where we can have a good time. I invite you to get to know it and enjoy it. I am happy to be able to visit it on my last trip to the city, where I had a great time with my daughter, my sister and my nephew.

¡Hola, amigos! Espero que se encuentren muy bien, como siempre me siento muy contenta y agradecida a Dios por poder compartir en esta comunidad. En estas vacaciones escolares de visita a la ciudad de Mérida, uno de los lugares que no podíamos dejar de visitar es la Plaza Bolívar, se encuentra en el casco de la ciudad entre av.3 y 4, es un punto de encuentro, ya que en este lugar nos reunimos con amigos y familiares, a su vez es un lugar de descanso y recreación, además está muy cerca de algunos sitios de interés turístico.
La plaza Bolívar es el sitio perfecto para tomar una pausa después de una larga caminata por las diferentes calles y tiendas que rodean el centro, aquí podemos sentarnos a descansar, disfrutar de un rico helado o simplemente observar la gente que camina por la ciudad, pero además es un sitio rodeado de historia, con un bello jardín, que está muy bien cuidado. Me gusta mucho el ambiente que respira en este lugar.
Una de las cosas que distinguen a la plaza Bolívar es la estatua del Prócer de la Patria Simón Bolívar. Esta obra es preciosa y muy alta. Simón Bolívar está a caballo y en su mano empuña una espada. Todo sobre un pedestal de mármol, aquí lo vemos cubierto de palomas y es que en la plaza encontramos siempre a estas bellas aves, que les gusta ser alimentadas por las personas; en realidad son muy consentidas aquí.
Sentarse en esta plaza y sostener una bonita conversación es algo relajante, porque la vegetación le otorga mucha frescura y además, el gentilicio merideño se caracteriza por ser muy amigable y amable. ¿Cuántas historias guardará esta plaza? Por cierto, hoy quise compartir estas fotografías con ustedes, ya que hoy se celebra un aniversario más de la ciudad de Mérida, que fue fundada un 9 de octubre de 1558, por un español llamado Juan Rodríguez Suárez. Así que, ¡Feliz cumpleaños, Mérida!
Alrededor de la plaza se encuentran diversos comercios como restaurantes, tiendas e instituciones con estructuras históricas como la gobernación del estado Mérida, la Basílica de la catedral y el edificio Hermes donde se encuentra las oficinas de los tribunales y muy cerca de la plaza se encuentra el rectorado de la universidad de los Andes. Algo que me gusta mucho, es que todos estos edificios y centros comerciales tienen una arquitectura hermosa, con edificios coloniales.
Definitivamente, esta plaza, a mi parecer, es lugar muy agradable y tranquilo donde podemos pasar un buen rato. Los invito a conocerla y disfrutar de ella. Estoy feliz de poder visitarla en mi último viaje a la ciudad, donde la pasé muy bien junto a mi hija, mi hermana y mi sobrino.
